Week five of The Great Food Truck Race sees the remaining teams pulling into Memphis, Tennessee. Since the vegan truck Seabirds went home last week, it’s up to the carnivores to dazzle this meat-loving town. It seems like a no-brainer, but will this week’s twist throw them off their game? Keep reading for a look at what’s to come in this week’s episode of The Great Food Truck Race.
In the video preview, The Great Food Truck Race host Tyler Florence gives the final four teams – Korilla BBQ, Hodge Podge, Roxy’s Grilled Cheese and The Lime Truck – some unexpected news in week five’s speed bump. Despite Memphis being a meat lover’s town, they must go all vegetarian mid competition. The vegan Seabirds will probably be kicking themselves for getting sent home as they watch this week.
Will the teams, some of whom are known for their BBQ and meaty meals, be able to satisfy their customers in Memphis with their vegetarian menus? That remains to be seen, but more importantly, will someone get caught cheating? If the promo is to be believed it certainly sounds that way. As we saw last week in Manhattan, Kansas, the teams will go to great lengths to win, as evidenced by Hodge Podge poaching Korilla’s customers. That may have just been a lack of food truck etiquette, but it shows how badly these teams want to win.
