American Idol’s Kimberly Caldwell Teams With Oxygen For New Tattoo Series!

September 12, 2011 09:00 AM by Kristin Watson

Former American Idol contestant, Kimberly Caldwell, is teaming with Oxygen for a new competition series that will search for the next great tattoo artist. Read on for all the details.

She conquered a Fox reality show and proved with various other gigs she can host with the best of them. Now Kimberly Caldwell is teaming with Oxygen in a series all about ink.

The competition show, Best Ink, features 12 tattoo artists living in one house, facing challenges based on their artistic expertise in the field of tattooing.

It’s like Project Runway, only there’s pain and permanent ink involved. Kimberly Caldwell will serve as the show’s host.

Oxygen said Best Ink will feature an Emotional Life Passage Challenge where the artists will develop a tattoo signifying a personal story.

There will also be a Tribute Tattoo Challenge in which the artists will create a tattoo for music fans of iconic musicians.

So, what do the contestants win if they are crowned the champ? They’ll take home $100,000 and nab a cover and spread in Tattoo Magazine.

Joe Capobianco and Sabrina Kelly (Tattoo shop owner) will serve as judges with additional guest-judges rotating through the series.

Will you be watching Best Ink when it drops?
