Tout. You may not have heard of it, but Survivor: South Pacific host Jeff Probst wants you to join him there all season long. For the last two seasons, Probst has made himself readily accessible to fans by tweeting about the episodes live. This year, he will be posting video updates each commercial break via Tout. What’s all this about? Read on to find out more!
Tout is a new social media outlet in which users can upload 15-second status updates in video form. Those updates can then be posted to Twitter and Facebook right from a smartphone.
This is exactly what Probst says he will be doing during commercial breaks during the episodes of Survivor: South Pacific. Yes, he will still be posting on Twitter during the show, but now he’s including his Tout updates to keep the evolution of the “interactive living room” going.
On Monday afternoon, Probst posted a Tout while riding in a New York City cab. In the short video, he offered a tease about the 90-minute premiere. “It is a duel between Coach and Ozzy — right out of the gate. Put up or shut up! Join Tout, I’ll be answering your questions live.”
Then on Tuesday night, Probst posted another Tout — this time from the JFK Airport. “Regarding Coach and Ozzy, one of them is welcomed to his tribe, the other is shunned. Can you guess which one? You’re probably right.”
