The Voice winner Javier Colon is going to make his acting debut on NBC’s new series, The Playboy Club. No, he won’t be playing himself — he’ll be playing an icon of epic proportions. Read on for the details…
According to a report from Access Hollywood, The singer will tap into his spectacular vocals to portray Ray Charles. Those are some big pipes to take on, but if anyone can do it, Javier Colon certainly can!
Javier Colon, who won the first season of The Voice after representing Adam Levine’s team to the very end and snatching the win from Blake Shelton’s frontrunner, Dia Frampton, will appear in The Playboy Club’s sixth episode.
The Playboy Club is fronted by Eddie Cibrian and features the world of The Playboy Club in 1960′s Chicago — of course, there will be bunnies.
The show has had mixed reception, with some groups not so keen on the idea of telling a story of this nature, but so far it looks like it will premiere to peeked interest.
The new series also features Amber Heard and has Colbie Callait on deck to guest star as Lesley Gore. She’ll take on It’s My Party.
The Voice’s second season will kick off in February after the Super Bowl. In the mean time, The Playboy Club kicks off on Sept. 19 on NBC, with Javier Colon’s appearance being in the sixth episode.
What do you think of Javier Colon’s guest role?
