Dancing with the Stars premiered against Two and a Half Men Monday night and despite season 13′s interesting cast of misfits, the ABC show couldn’t surpass Ashton Kutcher and his debut.
Dancing with the Stars debuted strong with 18.6 million people tuning in, but that was nothing compared to the premiere of Ashton Kutcher on Two and a Half Men, which brought in 27.7 million viewers.
The huge margin is mostly due to the curiosity fans had over Ashton replacing Charlie Sheen as new character Walden Schmidt.
While Dancing with the Stars went down a notch from their season opener last year, it seems Two and a Half Men actually doubled in audience.
Dancing with the Stars focused on the cha cha and Viennese waltz during the season 13 debut and leader board toppers Chynna Phillips and JR Martinez were the standouts of the night.
Chaz Bono, who has been the talk of the show recently for being the first transgender contestant of DWTS, opened with a respectable version of the cha cha.
