This week on Dancing With The Stars on ABC, we watched the show’s first ever transgender contestant, Chaz Bono, take the stage. Love him or hate him, Chaz Bono says he was happy with his first routine. Read on for more!

Dancing With The Stars kicked off this week with the season 13 premiere, and Chaz Bono, who most people were anticipating watching, thinks he did a pretty good job for his first routine. Chaz, who scored a 17 out of 30, but was better than a few other celebrities, told People Magazine that he was happy with his performance and added: “I was nervous going into it, but I was also excited. I think it went pretty well. There were certain little things that I messed up or didn’t do, but it was good and it was fun. I had a good time doing it.” We’re glad Chaz Bono had fun, we certainly had fun watching him!

Chaz Bono added that he does not think his performances will change the minds of the folks not voting for him due him being a transgender, but it doesn’t bother him. Chaz told the magazine: “There are certain people who are never going to change their view about anything that’s out of their comfort zone. I went out there and did the best I could for all the people who have been supporting me. I’ve received tremendous support from people.”
