Gordon Ramsay knows how to put the fear in chef’s trying to make a name for themselves, but he’s also got a soft spot as we’ve seen on MasterChef. Can he take what we’ve come to love about him and find success with Hotel Hell?
Hotel Hell will feature Gordon Ramsay traveling across America, giving hotels makeovers. Okay, it’s not just hotels — it’s bed & breakfasts and motels too.
Fox has ordered the new series and while its a bit of stretch from what Ramsay’s used to, the idea is to bring in the “makeover” elements of Kitchen Nightmares and pair that with Ramsay’s name, ultimately getting him out of the kitchen and into a new game.
Ramsay does have some hotel experience. He studied hotel management back in the day and has owned hotel restaurants.
If you’re keeping score, with the addition of Hotel Hell, Gordon Ramsay will have the most shows on air of any broadcast network reality personality — he already has Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and MasterChef.
Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment at Fox, said, “Gordon is amazing to work with and no matter what the premise, he delivers every time.”
Darnell added, “With an unprecedented three shows already on the air, Gordon is an incredible television success, and we’re really thrilled to put him through Hotel Hell.”
Gordon Ramsay added of Hotel Hell, “These are stories that everyone can relate to, because virtually all of us have had a bad hotel experience that’s turned a holiday or business trip into a total disaster. It’s time to put the hospitality industry to the test.”
