Patti Stanger Apologizes For Her Bigoted Remarks

September 27, 2011 07:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Patti Stanger of Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker has been failing at making love connections these days, which has angered fans into begging to have her fired, and just when we thought she couldn’t anger fans anymore, she did. This week, Patti had some pretty bad remarks towards gays and Jewish folks, but now she is issuing an apology. What gives? Read on to find out!

This week on Bravo, Patti Stanger appeared on “Watch What Happens Live,” where she made some pretty harsh and bigoted remarks against both gay people and Jewish people. What did Patti say? She said on the show: “There is no curbing gay men. I have tried,” after claiming that gay men are incapable of monogamy. But she didn’t just attack gay men, she also went after Jewish men saying: “Jewish men lie.”

If she didn’t have people looking to get her fired before, she sure does now! Today, Patti apologized, telling TMZ that she did not mean to come off that way and adding: “I am so sorry. I did not mean to offend anyone with my comments last night.” If you did not mean to offend anyone, then why open your mouth in the first place, Patti?

Bravo also issued a statement today as they said: “Patti’s comments are not representative of the network’s beliefs and opinions. We apologize for the offense it caused.” Wow, maybe Patti Stanger will get canned now. What do you think of these comments from Patti? Comment and share your thoughts with us!

I hate the way a few special groups can and does use this type of attack on celebrities…If you want to see bigotry and attacks…watch a minority television show…watch BET and tell me how many times you will see racial comments…

My point…either we are going to have fair and balance speech…or no free speech…but no one or a few groups should have the right to control discussion…

Wow, what a “sensitive” world we have become. Patti Stanger is not a bigot, she was merely stating her opinion. America, you have become a nation of wimps and cry babies!! This is what liberalism has done…come on people, grow up.

I think Patti did take it too far on that show. I don’t like her comments about women on her show. She says its impossible for her to matchmake for a plus-size woman. Being a plus-size woman I have no shortage of dates. I fight men off with a stick. She’s not a good matchmaker anyway. She has a huge failure rate on her show.

Im not even sorry its true.
    It is.
    Patty is right.
I lived in the West Hollywood and
    Santa Monica area,and attended and
    graduated from Ithaca College.
Both HOT spots for both communities.
    Patty Stanger is right.
    Not my fault.
    Not hers.
    Just true.
So,give her all the heat you want, she
    told you how it is.
Spend any amount of time in either place,
    youll find Patty knows.
    Stop punishing honest people.

She’s entitles to her opinion. I’ve watched her show and she is making her comments based on her experience in the business. Should she have been all inclusive? No. But most people that have their skirts in a bunch probably make the same type of all inclusive comments. People make a big deal out of such dopey things. Move on people!!

If you don’t want to offend, maybe don’t remark about 2 of the 3 most sensitive race/religious groups out there.

Stick to picking on average white men. We can take it.

Well as a Gay male, I thinkk shes pretty correct on that one, when 2 gay men break up its usually because one is cheating or wanting to cheat. I hate to speak out against my own here, but its fairly right on. at 40 years old with lots of Gay couples, I only know of one that I dont know hasnt had some affair, that being said, the same can be said of straight couples as well.

Now if Gay marriage were legal, this might change, but thats another soapbox
