16 and Pregnant Star Allowed Supervised Visits with Daughter

October 12, 2011 04:33 PM by Jackie Morrison

Ebony Jackson-Rendon and her husband Joshua Rendon have been allowed to see their toddler daughter, named Jocelyn, again but only through supervised visits. The couple were arrested last month and lost custody of their child but cleaned up their home in order to regain access. The first visit lasted four hours under the watchful eye of authorities from the Department of Human Services (DHS) in Arkansas. DHS has awarded them twice a week visits for two hours each with a supervisor.

The Rendons were cast in the first season of 16 and Pregnant while expecting but were not cast in Teen Mom. Their arrest last month resulted in DHS taking Jocelyn because police found the child living in feces-smeared living conditions. Both parents were charged with child endangerment and other drug-related offenses. Their next court date is scheduled for November 10 where a judge will determine if Jocelyn is to be returned to them. Joshua Rendon must still face a military hearing over his arrest in addition to civilian proceedings.

So far, it has been reported by TMZ that the Rendons have not only cleaned their home in anticipation of Jocelyn’s return but have enrolled in parenting classes and therapy.

This is not the only custody issue being faced by former 16 and Pregnant cast members. A number of Teen Mom cast members are dealing with similar issues and relationship breakdown.  Amber Portwood, who is featured on Teen Mom, has given up custody of her daughter Leah. Portwood has had a number of difficulties with the law since appearing on the MTV reality series plus a stint in Rehab and suicide attempts. Her stormy relationship with Gary Shirley, the father of her daughter, has included physical altercations and frequents break-ups. Amber revealed to E! recently that she still has thoughts of suicide even after entering treatment this past summer.

“The only reason I am letting Gary have custody of Leah right now is to keep CPS off our backs,” said Amber Portwood. “I see Leah whenever I can. I have stipulations as to when I can and can’t see her.”
