Maksim Chmerkovskiy Explains His Blow Up At Len Goodman Last Night

October 25, 2011 08:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Last night on ABC‘s Dancing With The Stars, we watched as Maksim Chmerkovskiy had a heated exchange of words with Len Goodman after his performance with Hope Solo was not up to par. After the show, Maks was still fuming, but he explained a little more in depth why he blew up at Len Goodman. Read on for the details!

Dancing With The Stars fans watched last night as Maksim Chmerkovskiy lost his cool on judge Len Goodman, after Len told Maks’ partner, Hope Solo, that it was one of her worst performances yet. After Maks told Len Goodman that maybe it was time for him to get out (of the business), he went on to tell Brooke: “this is my show,” adding: “I helped make it what it is. I love every aspect of it. I love every professional that has ever been here, and I love every celebrity that puts effort into it every week. Having said that, I’m a little tired that we are being judged, some on effort and some, being picked on our heel leads.”

After the show, a pissed off Maks explained to reporters what he meant and why he blew up at Len. Maks said of the heated exchange: “It just kind of came to the point where I kind of had enough. It’s like give us a bad score, don’t call us out. Say it wasn’t my cup of tea…we’ll take the criticism. Don’t tell me it was your worst dance of the season because you’re an idiot, you know it’s not true. I’ve also danced for 27 years and I’ve won more titles than Len ever even participated in. That’s not to disrespect his opinion because we’ve all been here for 13 seasons. I’m just not going to sit back and let my partner get disrespected.”

Maksim Chmerkovskiy then tried to deny saying it was “his show,” but then added: “I feel like it’s my show and together with other pros I’ve dedicated six years of my life to this show and I’ve helped make it what it is. But I never took it away from everybody else who participated.” Meanwhile, fellow dance pro Derek Hough took the high road as he stated: “I have so much to say, but I’m not going to say anything. As a seasoned professional, you should know not to do that, I think. There’s sort of an amount of self control,” when questioned about the episode by reporters.

It’s time for Maks to be voted off…he even said it himself, “I’ve had enough.” So go. Haven’t we watched enough of his self-centeredness, ego, and outbursts?

Watched Maks for years and he is the one that seems to have more problems with his partners because of his ego.

As far as the performance goes, Len called it correctly, as did the other judges.

Perhaps, it is time for Maks to get out of the business….at least with Stars.

I think Maks made a fool out of himself. His comments were unprofessional, and he needs to leave the show. I used to enjoy him, but I think he should stick to dance and leave the comments to the judges. The truth is he never gets the best out of his partners because he doesn’t know how to put anyone before himself!!!

Although a talented dancer, his ego does not allow him to teach his students. Look what he said to hope during her training for the dance at the “blow up” taping. Her pretty much talked down to her instead of motivate her.

He could back peddle all he wants, his show..not likely. The talent of the other dancers is what made this show. Quite frankly, I prefer to turn channel when he dances.

Maks is just full of himself, self-centered and disrespectful of other. A chauvinist perhaps. It’s his time to go, take his brother too, he’s a replica. DWTS, please wake up and don’t renew his contract for next season, take back the nicer guys like Louie.
