Project Runway, Lifetime’s fashion reality TV competition, is now down to the final four designers. Tonight, the contestants show their designs at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and a winner is chosen. Keep reading to find out who is the next Project Runway winner!
Last week, during part one of the two part finale, the remaining four designers Anya Ayoung-Chee, Joshua McKinley, Kimberly Goldson, and Viktor Luna each made a 10 piece collection to show the judges. After some harsh criticism from the judges the designers got the opportunity to spend $500 at Mood to make the proper changes to their collections before the runway show at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
In the workroom Anya decides to make three new looks, Kimberly redoes her bubble skirt, while Josh tries to remake some of his designs with brighter colored fabrics and Viktor uses a new cheetah print to make a gown. Mentor, Tim Gunn visits the designers to check in on their progress and tries to provide some helpful hints. Later, the designers have hair and make-up consultations to explain to the stylists the “look” that they want for the models wearing their collections.
It’s now time for the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The new and improved collections are unveiled. The designer’s family and friends are in the audience along with the season nine cast, the judges and leaders in the fashion industry. It’s a surreal moment for all of the designers to be presenting their collections at Fashion Week.
The judges for the finale are Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, Heidi Klum and guest judge L’Wren Scott. After watching the runway show, Heidi said they are very proud of all of the designers. First up was Kimberly. The judges said her collection was urban and contemporary and she has the ability to make fabrics look very modern.
Next, Joshua; the judges said his work shinned, he has a vision from beginning to end and he was “most improved” designer.
Viktor tried to show a beach girl meeting the city, the judges said his tailoring was great but he had too many see-through pieces.
Last, Anya explained that her inspiration had been the islands near her home. The judges said she has a great eye for fabrics, especially with prints but she has to include more variety in the future. After deliberating, the judges select Anya Ayoung-Chee as the winner of Project Runway!
