Ethan Zohn, former Survivor winner, has learned that his cancer is back. Ethan already overcame Hodgkin’s lymphoma and plans to beat this cancer too. Keep reading to find out what Ethan Zohn has to say about living his life with cancer.
On September 14, Ethan’s doctors told him that the cancer had returned to his chest. Ethan told People magazine, “It’s localized in my lung area. But it’s good that it’s not all over my body.” Back in October Ethan started 12 weeks of “smart” chemotherapy. This new chemotherapy only targets the cancerous cells in the body, not the healthy ones.
Ethan Zohn has his long-term girlfriend, and former Survivor winner, Jenna Morasca by his side for support. The couple has been dating for over eight years and recently appeared on CBS‘s The Amazing Race together. As for how the couple is dealing with cancer again Ethan shared, “We’re both filled with fear and anger and anxiety and gratitude and frustration. But there’s so much love there. It’s this whole spectrum of emotions.” Ethan also relies on his family for physical and emotional support. He will actually be receiving a stem cell transplant from one of his brothers when his chemotherapy ends. Ethan joked, “The doctors won’t tell me which one. They didn’t want me to start treating one differently than the other.”
Ethan continues to have a positive attitude towards life and beating this cancer. Ethan even plans to run the New York City marathon this coming weekend. He wants people to know that, “you can still live a fulfilled life and move forward.” He recently tweeted, “I have taken all the fear instilled by this disease & transformed it into something fear itself should be afraid of.”
We wish Ethan the best in his battle against cancer. Send Ethan some well-wishes, comment below!
