The X Factor Recap: Live Results Of The Top 12 Performances

November 03, 2011 06:06 PM by Lisa Princ

Last night on The X Factor, the top 12 took the stage to try and win your votes. Tonight, Simon Cowell and the gang are back with the results of your votes. Which contestant was sent packing? Read on to find out!

The X Factor kicked off it’s first live results show tonight with a performance of David Guetta’s Without You by the top 12, followed by a review of last night’s performances. Then we learned that the winner of the show will go on to win not only $5 million dollars, but their very own Pepsi commercial. Outasight then hit the stage with a performance of their hit tune, and current Pepsi song Tonight Is The Night.

Next up on The X Factor, all the teams are called up to the stage with their mentors, and Steve told us he would be announcing the top 10 acts, in no order, and then the judges would chose the final act to stay of the remaining two. Those moving on to the next round were announced as: Marcus Canty, Drew, Leroy Bell, Astro, Lakoda Rayne, Rachel Crow, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, and Stacy Francis.

This meant that both InTENsity and the Stereo Hoggz were in the bottom, so unfortunately, Paula Abdul would be losing one of her groups either way. Both groups would have to sing one last time, and then the judges would get to decide who would stay and who would go. The Stereo Hoggz were up first with their rendition of Emotion by The Bee Gees, which appeared to get the crowd roaring, while InTENsity took on Kelly Clarkson’s My Life Would Suck Without You, but it sounded more like a high school musical.

Before the judges spoke, Steve announced that each judge would get to vote, and if it ended up tied, the act with the actual lowest number of votes would be sent packing. Simon Cowell was up first and his choice was to send the Stereo Hogzz home, while Paula voted to send off InTENsity. Nicole Scherzinger was up next for her decision, and she chose to eliminate InTENsity, while L.A. Reid agreed with the girls and chose to eliminate InTENsity. That meant that the Stereo Hoggz were safe for another week!
