The Biggest Loser Recap: Trainers Control The Weigh In This Week

November 08, 2011 07:58 PM by Lisa Princ

Last week on The Biggest Loser on NBC, we watched as the teams and trainers were switched around, and this week, the trainers have complete control of the weigh in. We also watched as the trainers competed in a healthy recipe challenge that was judged by last season’s winner, Olivia Ward. Read on for all the highlights!

The Biggest Loser kicked off tonight with Ramon coming off as very angry after Jessica’s elimination last week. Though the other players tried to talk with Ramon about the elimination last week, Ramon was not having it and confided in Vinny that he thought Joe was a game player. The trainers were then greeted by Alison Sweeney, who informed them that only one of their players’ weight would count for the entire team this week at the weigh in – and they had to choose which one of their players would weigh in! All three trainers were debating which one of their contestants should weigh in, but luckily they didn’t have to reveal the chosen player until the weigh in.

Dolvett Quince knew that John was consistent, but worried whether or not he would hit a plateau this week, while Bonnie was about due for a breakthrough weigh in. Bob Harper thought that Antone would be a good choice, but he was also thinking that Vinny needed to be hitting bigger numbers than he had been, calling Vinny the “dark horse.” Meanwhile, Anna Kournikova worried because Sunny had a big loss last week, but she was unsure whether or not Joe or Ramon could pull it off either. Then it was straight to working out for the players, and the trainers meant business.

Up next on The Biggest Loser, was a cooking challenge, and in another surprise twist, the trainers would also be competing with their team. Each team had 30 minutes to create a healthy, low calorie, yet flavorful dish that could make it’s way into the newest Biggest Loser cookbook. Judging the dishes tonight were the author of the Biggest Loser cookbooks, along with last season’s winner, Olivia Ward. The winner of the challenge would receive their recipe published in the cookbook, lunch with Olivia, and a one pound advantage at the weigh in. All the teams created great meals, but it was Bob Harper’s team with their pork and slaw that won over the judges, and gave them the win!

After the challenge, the black team met up with Olivia for lunch, where she gave them some photos of their loved ones, while dishing out the advice on how to stay on track. Meanwhile, some of the other players were visited by Dr. H, where Bonnie got a lesson in how the brain of an obese person works, while Ramon was given the fantastic news that he is no longer diabetic. Then Ramon headed off to chat with Anna about his anger over Jessica’s elimination, and luckily Anna is able to get through to him so that he can get over his emotions – or at least we thought so. When he was alone with Vinny, Ramon was complaining that he doesn’t trust his team.

At the weigh in, Alison asked which players that the trainers chose. Bob chose Becky, while Anna chose Joe, and Dolvett chose John. After their last chance workout, this is how the new teams fared this week:

Anna’s Blue Team:
from 271 lbs to 269 lbs (-2) * total percentage of .74%

from 218 lbs to 216 lbs (-2)

from 286 lbs to 280 lbs (-6)

Bob’s Black Team
from 353 lbs to 348 lbs (-5)

from 192 lbs to 186 lbs (-6) * total percentage of 3.65% with her 1 pound advantage

from 355 lbs to 345 lbs (-10)

Dolvett’s Red Team

from 329 lbs to 319 lbs (-10) * total percentage of 3.04%

from 221 lbs to 213 lbs (-8)

That meant that Anna Kournikova’s blue team was up for elimination, but Ramon could not be voted for since he had the highest percentage of weight loss. Vinny and Bonnie kicked off by voting for Joe, followed by Antone who also voted for Joe. With those three votes, it meant that Joe was eliminated this week. Joe continues his journey at home now, and is down to 230 lbs and is enjoying life as a healthier man with his family.
