Season 12 of NBC‘s The Biggest Loser has brought us new trainers Dolvett Quince and Anna Kournikova, after Jillian Michaels decided she did not want to return to the series. If you are like most and have not warmed up to Anna Kournikova, you are in luck as the tennis pro will not be returning next season. More after the jump!
The Biggest Loser will not see the return of Anna Kournikova as a trainer next season, or any season after that for that matter. Anna Kournikova issued a statement early saying: “I enjoyed my time on the Biggest Loser ranch. Although I will not be returning as a full time trainer on season 13, I will always be a part of The Biggest Loser family and my commitment to bettering lives through health and fitness will continue.” That’s awesome news if you are anything like us, and could barely stomach her this season.
We watched a few weeks ago as one of Anna’s contestants had it out with her, and upon switching trainers, we could just see how much happier Bonnie was being away from Anna Kournikova. Was she really that bad? Bad enough to get fired perhaps? According to People Magazine, Anna Kournikova’s reps said she was definitely not fired from the show, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, a source from the show told them that Anna Kournikova was “a nightmare.” Whether she was a nightmare to work with or not (she is definitely a nightmare to watch each week), the Biggest Loser insider went on to say: “It wasn’t the right fit for her. Her exit was a mutual decision.”
Season ten winner, Patrick House summed it up best when he told People Magazine: “One of the things about The Biggest Loser is that there’s a difference between someone being able to train people versus training overweight people. Bob and Jillian are great at training obese people and pushing them to their limits and getting more and more. I think you have to adapt to that and I think that’s what she struggled with.” Other past contestants such as Olivia and Hannah of last season, reiterated Patrick’s thoughts.
Are you as thrilled as we are that we won’t have to suffer through another season of Anna Kournikova? With that in mind, we can’t help but wonder if Dolvett Quince will be returning – do you think he should? Comment and share your thoughts with us below!
