The X Factor Live Results Recap: Did Tonight Mark The End For Paula Abdul’s Groups?

November 17, 2011 07:05 PM by Lisa Princ

The X Factor returned tonight, with the results of your votes after last night‘s performances. Did tonight mark the end for Paula Abdul’s group category after the rock week performances? If you think you know what happened, you may be in for a surprise! Read on for all the highlights!

The X Factor was back tonight with the live results show after you, the viewers, had your chance to vote. The show kicked off with the top ten finalists performing Satisfaction, followed by Steve announcing that Rihanna would be performing for us tonight. Next, Steve asked for Simon Cowell’s thoughts on last night’s performances, and Simon answered by noting that aside from his contestants, the only other two stand out acts were Astro and Josh Krajcik.

Steve then asked Paula how she felt about her only act, and she said she was confident in her girls. Then 2 of the acts moving forward were revealed to be Leroy Bell, and Lakoda Rayne. When they were announced, Simon looked shocked to learn that Lakoda Rayne was put through. After a break, we got to see a performance of We Found Love by Rihanna, and in light of all the pregnancy rumors surrounding her, she looked fit and trim as she donned a bare tummy during her performance!

Steve Jones was back with more results and the remaining eight acts were brought to the stage. The next six acts moving on to next week’s show were revealed to be: Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik, Marcus Canty, Drew, and Rachel Crow. Stacy Francis was too choked up to even talk when she learned that she was in the bottom, while Astro had a great attitude, telling the audience not to be sad if he leaves.

Stacy Francis took the stage first and she performed her rendition of Amazing Grace, and Nicole Scherzinger teared up from Stacy’s performance. Astro took on Never Can Say Goodbye, in which he put his own unique spin, such as including the judges in his tune. But who did enough to stick around another week?

L.A. Reid was up first with his decision, and he chose to send Stacy Francis home, even though he though Astro sort of “gave up.” Nicole Scherzinger was up next, and after Nicole gushed about both contestants, but she chose to stand by her girl and send Astro home. Paula Abdul said that they were both talented and she chose to send home Stacy Francis.

Once again, it was Simon’s call, and before choosing Simon told Astro was he acting disrespectful. Astro countered by saying after being put in the bottom two, he didn’t want to perform for people who didn’t want him there – whoa! Despite Astro’s ridiculous attitude, Simon chose to send Stacy Francis home. Best of luck to Stacy Francis!

Be sure to tune in next week to The X Factor on FOX to see the top nine perform!

Shame on all of you for sending home the person that could sing. All of you are “pushing’ for Astro to win. It is time for him to show his “singing” talent. I don’t believe he has any, lots of us can talk in rhyme and make it sound good with “backup singers”

Come on now judges!!! Lets be realistic. If Mr. Attitude Astro is so talented let him “sing”. Pretty much anyone with the strut can do this rap stuff, talk in rhyme, all the time!! The only singing I have heard in his performances are from his backup. Wrong person sent home, shame on all of you!!
