Ryan Seacrest, famous host of America Idol, can’t be too thrilled that Ryan Seacrest Productions is facing a lawsuit. In court documents, the plaintiff is seeking $100,000 in damages from Ryan Seacrest Productions and Bravo. Keep reading to find out who filed this lawsuit and what their complaint is all about.
Kathy Salem, the woman who filed the lawsuit, claims she was “blind-sighted” and humiliated in the production of Shahs of Sunset, produced by Bravo and Ryan Seacrest Productions. Kathy Salem alleges that she unknowingly signed the signature page of a release to appear on the reality show before she entered a party in Los Angeles. In the lawsuit, Kathy Salem asserts that she was never shown the release document in it’s entirety and suffered humiliation as a result of her participation on the show. Kathy Salem states that while inside the party she and a man began a conversation and shortly after a woman who claimed to be the man’s fiance came up to them, at which time Kathy Salem had a drink thrown in her face and suffered verbal abuse. Kathy Salem feels that Bravo and Ryan Seacrest Productions had cast her as “the bad girl”, which led to public humiliation. Kathy Salem asserts that this was all done to benefit the production of the reality show, which would benefit the producers.
Ryan Seacrest isn’t the first American Idol star to face a lawsuit in the public eye. American Idol star Adam Lambert had a lawsuit filed against him at the beginning of November, accusing him of being ineligible to compete on American Idol at the time of his participation.
