Thanksgiving week has arrived, which means Survivor: South Pacific is serving up a helping of leftover footage that didn’t make it on the air so far. While many fans despise these recapper episodes, CBS promises new content — including elements of Whitney and Keith’s budding romance. What else will this new footage showcase? Read on to find out more!
A press release from CBS teases the new-ish episode by saying, “Never-before-seen moments give an inside look into the castaways and their decisions made during the game so far, on Survivor: South Pacific.” I guess it doesn’t get much more vague than that, right?
Based on promos, one of the new sequences will focus on the romance between Whitney and Keith. As most of you know by now, Whitney’s relationship with Keith reportedly broke up her marriage after she returned home from Samoa. In the episode teaser Whitney says, “I like Keith. You have to make an effort not to seem too close.”
Then we also get to see the possible formation of an alliance between Coach and Ozzy. Big deal, right? Well, the voiceover on the promo makes it sound like this is a huge deal by calling them “sworn enemies” who may have formed a “secret alliance.” Sworn enemies? Since when? This is definitely no Russell vs. Boston Rob scenario here.
Finally, the new scenes will also highlight Coach labeling Cochran as “Hercules.” I’m guessing this is where Coach gets the idea to call himself “Zeus.”
All this and loads more leftovers will air on this special “A Closer Look” episode on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Will you be watching? Do you like these episodes or do you think they’re simply a waste of time?
