The X Factor Results Recap: Thanksgiving Brings A Double Elimination

November 23, 2011 07:01 PM by Lisa Princ

The X Factor was back tonight with the live results of last night’s performances. Last week, we were shocked when Stacy Francis was sent packing, but were we in for another shocker? Read on to find out which two contestants were sent packing after the Thanksgiving week performances.

The X Factor kicked off their Thanksgiving week results show with a performance of Stronger by the original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson. Kelly rocked the stage as she normally does, and she looked fabulous. After a review of last night’s performances, the top nine took the stage for a performance of So What and Raise Your Glass by Pink.

Next, it was time for some results and Steve Jones informed us that the act with the lowest number of votes would be automatically eliminated tonight. He then called up Lakoda Rayne and Drew, and asked Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell to come up on the stage and join their contestants. Much to Paula’s dismay, it turned out that Lakoda Rayne got the lowest number of votes last night, and they were automatically eliminated tonight.

After a break, we saw America’s Got Talent judge, Howie Mandel, who was super excited to promote his show, Mobbed. Bruno Mars then took the stage with a performance of It Will Rain. The remaining seven acts were then called to the stage to find out who would be moving on, and who would be singing for their lives. Moving straight into next week’s performances were: Chris Rene, Rachel Crow, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, and Astro.

That meant that both Marcus Canty and Leroy Bell were up for elimination, and would have to sing for survival. Marcus Canty was up first with You Lost Me by Christina Aguilera, and it sounded okay, but it was nothing spectacular. Leroy Bell was up next with Don’t Let Me Down by The Beatles, and he was definitely the better of the two tonight, but maybe the judges would not agree?

L.A. Reid was up first with his decision, and just as we expected, he stuck by Marcus Canty and decided to send Leroy Bell home. Nicole Scherzinger was up next, and she did not deny that Marcus was a star, but she chose to stand by Leroy Bell, and sent home Marcus Canty. Paula Abdul started by telling Steve it would not be quick, and she said that Marcus did not sing as well as Leroy did on the survival song. After being pressured by Steve, Paula chose to send home Marcus Canty.

Simon Cowell said he liked them both, but Leroy Bell sang better in the survival song tonight. After thinking it over, Simon decided to let America choose the act to move on, and he chose Leroy Bell, so it went to deadlock. Part of me wonders if Simon knew he could not keep Marcus Canty, so he assumed that was who America chose? After the votes, it was revealed that Leroy Bell would be heading home this week, along with Lakoda Rayne.

After such a disrespectful week from Astro, I cannot imagine there are that many people in this world that would approve of such behavior and vote him to stay. Talented or not. Such behavior doesn’t sell tickets for him to be a five million dollar winner. He has to respect his audience and fans which he didn’t do.

Astro should have been gone a long time ago. Rapping is NOT singing and Astro is NEVER made to sing. Why??Isen’t this a singing competition???Yet week after week he get a standing ovation! I wont be watching any longer.
