Hope Solo Dishes On Her Dancing With The Stars Experience

November 28, 2011 03:00 PM by Megan Thompson

Hope Solo and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, made it to the semi-finals of Dancing With The Stars.  When Hope was eliminated she was devastated, but never really had a chance to talk with the press.  Hope Solo is finally sharing her feelings about her experience on DWTS.  Keep reading to find out what Hope has to say about her time on the ABC hit show.

After Hope and Maks were sent home from DWTS, they didn’t do the normal press that the other eliminated contestants usually do.  It was rumored that Hope was so upset about being eliminated that she refused to talk to the press.  Later Hope put all the rumors to rest by explaining that ABC wanted the final three to do the press that week, not the eliminated couple.

Now Hope is making time for the press and speaking about her time on DWTS.  Last Tuesday Hope Solo sat down with Anderson Cooper and dished about the show.  Compared with other stars on the show, Hope had some negative comments to say.  She explained to Anderson that she felt “very naïve” about her time on the show.  It seems Hope felt she was a character, “It is very much reality television. From day one, they casted our characters,” she said.  Hope also felt the judges were harsh on her and Maks and didn’t give her the proper encouragement.  Hope shared, “I was told I had too much muscle and I was too intense and wasn’t very dainty. Well, hello — you cast a female professional athlete! Help me get better as a dancer.”  As for her relationship with Maks, she expressed they were great friends and have a wonderful relationship.  By the end of the interview Hope did express there were no hard feelings about anything that happened on the show.

Compared to other stars who rave about their experience on the show, it seems Hope has some hard feelings towards DWTS.  Do you think the judges were too harsh on Hope Solo?  Let us know what you think, comment below.

The judges were very harsh on her. What really grided my gears was that Chaz was doing better then her. He could not dance and as was said buy Maks “Got A’s for effort”. Come on, just because Chaz had a sex change and his mom is Cher dosen’t mean he can get away with it in the competion. The judges espeically Goodman always judged her. When she did her Rumba, she was being judged on what she was wearing. Like “Hey, i thought this was a dancing Show, not a fashion show”. What is more important, doing the dance right or how stylish you look. I give her credit for standing up to the judges.

The judges were unfair from the beginning on Hope and Maks. They are jealous of Maks popularity. As far as I am concerned Maks makes the show. Besides being the most “easy on the eyes” he is by far the best dancer and they always couple him with a female who is not going to be easy to teach and then they are so self righeous and priggish. They are not fair, giving accolades to only fair dancers and lavish praise to the pitiful, like Palin’s daughter, who was too plump to pump! Seeing herself did help her make a life change and move away from her Mom and have that major plastic surgery. Hope did not deserve what the three “judges” dished. I would like to see the three dance against Maks – they couldn’t hold a candle. He make have a little temper – he needs it to survive the show. He is the show in my opinion.

judges hated hope and maks. it was obvious. neither of the dancers would kiss you know what. good for them. i’ve never either and am proud of them and embarrassed of a dingy female judge, a too old judge and a flaming judge.

Can you say spoiled brat? I think Maks makes people angry because he’s so angry. I think he needs a serious break from the show to regroup.

The system is rigged. The judges do not really judge they manipulate their vote for an outcome. Case in point: They gave Maks and Hope very low marks and Rob very high marks just to make sure Hope and Maks didn’t make it to the finals. To make very sure that happened they gave Rob 10 for the cha cha and Hope and Maks 4. The game was to nullify the fan vote.

Who is in the finals?? I quit watching after Hope the hottie and Maks got eliminated. At least they were not boring like the rest of them left. I don’t think the judges knew what to think of Hope scared if her maybe.

No. They were not unfair. They DID step out of line with personal comments though. They said some cruel things to Chaz Bono. Her history shows that Hope is a whiner and a sore loser. She was quoted saying she and max did things no one else could do. Ummm, yes, they not only could, they did, and did it better. Suck it up buttercup. As for max, he is NOT the show as he said, he is part of it. There are far better dancers.

Yes, the judges were unduly harsh on Hope in context with the overpraising of mediocre dancing by Chaz and Nancy. Unless trained as dancer, a muscled 5’10″ woman is never going to look as graceful as 100 lb Jennifer Grey. Notice that even most of the pro females are very petite. Kym Johnson is probably the tallest, maybe 5’7″ at most? Relative to Maks, Derek has a real advantage, he will always be paired with a shorter partner

The PRO dancers ARE the show. They train the untrainable and put up with the over inflated ego of the “judges”, who pretend to judge unskilled dancers by the same standards as a seasoned pro…when in reality, it is all manipulated reality tv. Maks and the other pros have every right to feel like it is their show. Without them there would be NO DWTS. The celebs can’t train themselves and the critiques from the judges are worthless and biased, geared toward ratings and storylines. Hope was not a great dancer, but she didn’t deserve to be shown such a lack of respect while the judges battled Maks every week. She showed just as much effort as any of the other contestants, and that is all it took for “some” contestants to be overpraised and lavished with sickening tongue baths every week. AND Bruno needs to seriously take some classes in tact and manners. Some of his comments on a show shown during prime time as vulgar and disgusting, ie calling Carrie Ann a p*ssy cat, except he intentionally forgot to add the “cat” on live tv. It’s all about the ratings and the sponsorship by advertisers.

Hope is a sore loser and a whiner……..she has a lot of bark but no bite, sorry but she made it pretty long on the show, when she should’ve been gone a long time ago. Very sucky attitude she has for someone who is a professional athlete she sure made a lot of drama out of a dance show that she apparently didnt care too much about….immature, grow up!
