The X Factor Results Recap: Final Four Revealed In Another Emotional Shocker!

December 08, 2011 07:06 PM by Candace Young

Tonight on The X Factor one of the final five will be sent home based on America’s votes following some very strong live performances last night. The show kicks off tonight on FOX with a live performance by Lenny Kravitz. Mary J. Blige will also be on the show tonight. Keep reading to find out who winds up in jeopardy and who is ultimately eliminated as the final four are revealed in yet another shocking results show…

Following Lenny Kravitz’s appearance, host Steve Jones introduces a montage of last night’s performances and judges’ remarks. All of the judges seem to agree that Chris Rene’s performance of his original song was the highlight of the previous night.

The final five are welcomed back to the stage with their mentors as Paula Abdul, whose groups have all been eliminated, watches from the judges panel.

The first act voted through to the semi-final is…Josh Krajcik! Nicole Scherzinger, his mentor, goes wild.

The second act voted through to the semi-final is…Chris Rene!

With Josh and Chris safely through to the top four, Marcus Canty, Rachel Crow, and Melanie Amaro are left waiting to learn their fate. Steve asks each of them what they’re feeling.

Mary J. Blige takes the stage to perform Need Someone.

Josh and Chris are given an opportunity to reflect on their feelings and thank their supporters before we learn who else will go through. Steve Jones reminds us that next week the contestants will perform the Pepsi Challenge songs Americans have selected for them.

The third act to go through to the semi-finals is…Melanie Amaro!

Marcus Canty and Rachel Crow will be singing for their survival tonight. It’s the third time for Marcus, who plans to sing from the heart. A teary-eyed Rachel assures Steve that she’s okay, and tells Marcus she loves him.

Marcus does his ‘save me’ song first. It’s I’m Goin’ Down by Mary J. Blige. He really gives it his all and it’s a very strong, heartfelt performance.

Rachel sings I Would Rather Go Blind by Beyonce. Her performance is off-the-charts, mature beyond her years, and infused with emotion. The crowd goes crazy. Simon almost seems to tear up.

The judges must now decide which act to send home. Marcus, who has been in the bottom three times, would seem to be the logical choice, particularly since Rachel just had a ‘moment’ with her ‘save me’ song.

L.A. says they were both great, and he’s really torn. As a man of principal, he stands by his man and sends Rachel home. Simon immediately says he’s sending Marcus home, adding that he’ll miss him. Paula says they both did amazing but Rachel blew her away – she sends Marcus home. Nicole cries when it’s her turn. She says she can’t make the decision and wants it to go to deadlock – she sends home Rachel to accomplish that.

The judges have lost their power and it is all up to America’s votes now. The act with the lowest number of votes will be leaving. The act going home is…Rachel Crow. Marcus Canty goes through to the semi-final.

Rachel falls to the stage and sobs uncontrollably. Simon, L.A., and her mother rush to her side. Emotions and shock flood the place as Nicole has also dissolved into tears in Paula’s arms, seemingly feeling responsible, perhaps due to her inability to make a decision.

Rachel composes herself and thanks everyone, saying she’ll be fine. Simon says she’s gone out on a high note. Nicole is asked to speak but the crowd boos her too loudly and she turns away.

The X Factor final four are: Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro, and Marcus Canty.

That is bullshit. Rachel blew his off the stage.
Nicole did it because he is black. Rachel could have won the show tonight with that save me song. marcus sounds like 1000 other performers. Absolutely rediculous.

Nicole better watch herself cuz you know how crazy people are! She is gonna get SO much hate on FB & Twitter & everywhere! She deserves it though cuz ultimately it was her decision to send that awesome little girl home. Shame on you, Nicole.

Nichole showed her true colors tonight. Marcus isn’t half the talent Rachael is. In a few years no one will recall Marcus and Rachael will be going strong. How anyone in the industry (Nichole) could say Marcus’ performance was as good as Rachael’s is beyond me. The one job you must perform as judge is to judge and she couldn’t do perform her simple job. No more love or respect for Nichole, she needs to just go away. We’re no longer interested in X factor thanks to her bumbling and fumbling. Josh is my personal favorite but it should have been Chris and Rachael in the final. It’s all yours now Chris.

Very sad night. For me, it’s been between Josh and Melanie for a while, but Rachel shouldn’t have gone home tonight.
It’s one thing to vote for a deadlock because you are voting for your favorite performer. But, sending it to deadlock so you don’t have to make a choice is just cowardly.
What’s the point of a save-me song if it’s going to be ignored? Rachel absolutely nailed it.

I beleive this was fair yet I disagree with Nicole. Marcus Canty and Chriss Renee both need to go. Neither can sing and Racheal had so much more talent than either of them.

It’s fixed. Nicole is the one who should go home. How fake was all that. Marcus, who I actually like, has been in the bottom two for THREE weeks. Hello, Nicole.

Kick her off. This show just lost my husband and I. The judges are ridiculous.

That isn’t right! No Way! The judges should have a save.

Nicole didn’t do what they pay her for. Everyone knows Rachael was much much better than Marcus. It’s just ridiculous. We may not watch the show again.

The absolute worst result I’ve experienced as a viewer of peformance contests. The probllem was a direct result of the lady judge, whateve her name is, that couldn’t make a decision. Unbelievable that she couldn’t distinquish the perormance quality this evening. Rachel Crow clearly outsang the guy. Marcus even forgot the words at the end of the song with his mumbling and warbling that were llike babble yodeling instead of a verbal finale. I’m disappointed enought to express my feelings abou the result. Rachel will be a star and Marcus may make some money but will never be a notable act to follow. If the judge with “principle” manifested that realaity he would have voted for Rachel. She was clearly the better of the two. I’m Tebowing on her behalf as I type.

The people spoke. They voted the way they wanted. Why blame it on Nicole? Would you like to be in her place and have to make the choice. I would have done the same thing. Let the people speak!

Shame on you Nicole! Rachael had never been in the bottom two and had a better performance record than Marcus. You shouldn’t have gambled like you did. My husband will no longer watch the Xfactor because of your bad decision. We hope they don’t ask you back as a judge for the next season.

    Nicole REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What were you thinking not putting Rachel through with going to the so called America vote. Your being paid to be a judge. Once again it a bad example when people just cope out of making a decision. If you can’t take the Heat, get out of the kitchen. Rachel is well beyond her years in talent, did you watch her in the sing OFF? Also the attitude of Marcus is again being a POOR ROLE Model like Astro.

Nicole is such a fricking idiot. If your not going to have the balls to make a decision then she shouldn’t be a judge on the panel with her fake crying. What a dumbass. That girl should not have been sent home. That boy has been in the bottom 2 for the past 5 times and he needed to be sent home. This is why I quit watching this show. She needs to go just like the emcee.

  17. Rico Says:

The black people have the lowest votes again? I guess America doesn’t vote for blacks, and uses Nicole as a scapegoat. God bless Nicole for not taking their blame.

Rachelle was definitely better than Marcus. She blew us off. What an amazing performance from a 13 year old. Shame on you Nicole for not doing your job as a judge. If you cannot make a decision you need to step down give that chair to someone who can. You will be hated for the longest time.

I was sick to my stomach If these judges do not have the spine to make a truthful choice then they need to NOT be on this show. Nicole new Rachel blew him off the stage.Because your friends with a fellow judge you cant make a FAIR and right decision makes me sick.I am thru With X factor I will NOT watch it ANYMORE. What a JOKE Nicole.I suppose when it comes to Melondy and Marus you will weep and and say the same thing. OMG I AM THRUUUUuuuuuuuuuu

FYI, the rosary is not a form of jewelry. It is used to pray to the Mother of Jesus. I found it to be in BAD TASTE to wear it as an ornament so close to the celebration of Christmas as well as on the day of the feast of the Immaculate Conception. If you aspire to be a performer you should not insult people’s religion.

What is going on??? Isn’t the whole point that American votes who it wants to stay or go? Obviously America wanted Marcus to stay. Period. I don’t understand why the judges are picking who goes home anyway. What is the point in having America vote, if the judges decide anyway? If she got the lowest votes, then GOODBYE. The end

  24. Judy Price Says:

I think Nicole just sealed her fate as an impartial judge. She let her bickering and problems with Simon affect her ability to vote fairly so she voted against Rachel. I think Simon will have the last word though for next season.

  25. ashley Says:
    December 9th, 2011 at 8:41 am

Really it is not Nicole’s fault she couldn’t decided since she has been in that position before and the fact that she loves both of them. And if you really loved Rachel Crowe she wouldn’t have to sing for her life. Also the public gave Rachel the lowest numbers of votes, so you can’t blame it on Nicole. Even though Nicole feels sorry for Rachel, it was originally up to the public so it was youir fault and not Nicole’s.

I think X factor sucks, bring back American Idol, no kid under 18 should be allowed to be a contestant, see the obsurd reactions drew and now this one. ? Nicole you did the best thing, good for you.. Boo hoo you little brats and the mother comes on stage omg!!!

  27. melanie markus Says:
    December 9th, 2011 at 11:46 am

WOW, while both contestants are amazing, there was just enough inconsistancies in Marcus Conte’s performance and virtually flawless performance given my Rachel Crow that this should have been a no brainer as two which one should have gone home. Rachel Crow took this one , hands down.

  28. Rita Says:
    December 9th, 2011 at 1:35 pm

as far as I am concerned this whole contest is fixed. Nelanie Amaro was sent home in the begining but then oh no Simon made a mistake so he went to her house and brought her back which I think should have never happened. She could have tried again next year. Don’t get ma wrong she has a good voice but what was done should have stayed that way. The other Mentors didnt get to bring back an extra person. As for Rachel going home well that LITTLE GIRL MAY HAVE WENT HOME BUT SHE WILL BE BACK. SIMON CAN SIGN HER AND SO CAN l>a> NOW LETS SEE WHO DOES. MARCUS REALLY SHOULD HAVE WENT HOME BUT NICOLE DIDN’T HAVE THE GUTS TO MAKE THAT DECISION . bUT TO HATE HER NAH THATS THE WAY IT GOES.nOW ITS UP TO Chris and Josh. I would like to see both Melanie And Marcus go home.

It is not up to any one person to write in and say who should have gone home…If America votes then each of the voters has just as much right to like who they do….the contestants with the most votes move on and that is the way it is..we may have our favorites but good sportmanship says that we are still okay with other winning….if 5000 people vote for Contestant A and 1000 people vote for contestant B, why should contestant B stay on because fewer voters believe that person is a better singer. Whoever is the better singer or entertainer is up to what MOST of the people want. And if contestants are not in the bottom 2, even the jugdes cannot send them home so to say they should have sent Josh , or Melanie home before Rachel is downright stupid because they were not even in the bottom 2…

  30. Jake Conte Says:

People are forgetting one thing….If Rachel stayed on, would she have won out against Josh or Melanie, I know that millions would not have wanted that….those two are getting alot of positive comments….it would have been much harder on Rachel if she moved on and was eliminated next week or worse if she was eliminated after competing with Melanie if they were in the bottom 2 or what if she made it to two remaining and it was either her or Josh, I am sure many many would be torn between those two and we all know that a younger person with full talent is given options by other agencies….

  31. bremsray2 Says:

It is sad when any of the contestants went home…What if Rachel and Drew were the final two..I am sure no matter which one would win, many many people would be angry at the way the judges voted….I am thinking that most people are wanting Josh or Melanie to win…so what would happen if they and Rachel ended up in final 3…if Rachel were sent home then, it would be far more devasting to her…but now it appears Disney is picking up her option and thing could go very very well for her…And if Josh or Melanie are sent home I know there would be alot of hate comments against the judges for either voting outright or for deadlocking…

i wish xfactorusa.com would put out a statement why they sabotaged the group “illusion confusion” i was in the audience in Miami they came on right before Melanie and totally ROCKED the bank Atlantic center, they got TWO standing ovations,Simon said “fantastic, you are the best group in the competition by far” and i remember Paula said” i’d love to bathe in Illusion Confusion”the arena broke out in laughter. made it to final 32 yet that awesome audition NEVER shown,2 performances judges house never shown and final straw all other 31 acts perform undisturbed yet theirs was sabotaged with a talking interveiw over theirs ,even Yahoo music critic Lyndsey Parker wrote article(judges house part 2) 3 weeks ago and stated xfactor had to have something personal on these guys, notice youtube vid(bootcamp group 7)again get shafted as they only show them dancing in background.i wrote to xfactorusa.com and asked and they banned me from posting, just for asking why? thats pretty deep to ban someone for a question, must be touchy subject. wish more people would write or post on their site and ask why they felt they had to sabotage these guys,oh and i KNOW at their judges house perf, Paula’s face and”on the fence comment WERE edited in from ANOTHER group they were commenting on,they SHOULD put up their 1st audition, what are they scared of?
