On tonight’s episode of Top Chef: Texas on Bravo; the remaining twelve chefs cook with Tequila and work in pairs to cook “game” dishes made up of duck, quail, venison, squab, elk and boar. The guest judge is Chef Tim Love. Keep reading to find out how many chefs pack up their knives!
The 12 competing chefs include: Dakota Weiss, Heather Terhune, Sarah Grueneberg, Chris Jones, Chris Crary, Ty-Lor Boring, Nyesha Arrington, Lindsay Autry, Beverly Kim, Paul Qui, Edward Lee and Grayson Schmitz.
For the Quickfire challenge the chefs cook with Don Julio Tequila while creating their dishes. Guest judge Chef Tim Love selects Ty-Lor Boring as the winner. Unfortunately, the winner this week does not receive immunity but instead wins $5,000.
Next, the chefs find out they will work together in pairs to cook during a “game” dinner. Six well known chefs are brought in who will be eating the six courses the chefs will be serving. Host Padma Lakshmi tells the chefs there will be a double elimination this week and the chefs will be judging each other’s dishes! Beverly and Heather are paired together and are cooking Duck; Ed and Ty are cooking Quail, Chris and Grayson are cooking Elk; Paul and Sarah are cooking Squab; Lindsay and Chris are cooking Boar and Dakota and Nyesha are cooking Venison.
The judges select Ed and Ty as the winners of this week’s challenge therefore they will be splitting $10,000. Dakota and Nyesha; along with Beverly and Heather; and finally Grayson and Chris are selected by their fellow judges as having the three worst dishes. They explain their dishes to the judges. The chefs go back to the kitchen and the judges deliberate. For the double elimination, the judges choose to eliminate Dakota and Nyesha; however they both have the opportunity to win back a spot on the Top Chef: Texas finale.
