After 39 days of battling it out in Samoa, 22-year-old Sophie Clarke was crowned as the Survivor: South Pacific champ. Even better, she walked away with the $1 million grand prize. While many fans were upset with Sophie’s victory and argue she didn’t deserve to win the game, her championship status is one that was definitely overshadowed by Coach, Cochran and Ozzy’s portrayal throughout the entire season. In fact, I think her game was so hidden by other storylines that Sophie will likely go down as one of the most forgettable winners of all time. Don’t you agree? After the live reunion show in Los Angeles on Sunday, December 18, I had the opportunity to chat with the new Survivor millionaire on the red carpet. Read on to watch our exclusive interview in which Sophie reveals how she intends to spend her $1 million, explains that she was closest to Brandon on the island and also offers up a hilarious story about how she’s never recognized by fans of the show. Enjoy!

While we touched on many topics during our post-game interview on the red carpet, Sophie was very open about the fact that she is hardly ever recognized by fans. In fact, it was quite endearing to hear her talk about her reality fame as being almost nonexistent. She highlighted her lack of recognition by telling a story about spending time in New York City with Cochran. “We’ll go out to lunch or something; it’s happened so many times where someone comes up to us and says, ‘Oh my God. Oh my God. You’re Cochran. You’re Cochran from Survivor.’ He does his little fake blushing thing, says something awkward and endearing. Then they look at me and they say, ‘Oh my God, he’s from Survivor. Will you take a picture of us?’ They don’t even recognize me. They’re looking right past me. I just smile, ‘Of course I will.’ I take their camera, I take their photo and I let them walk away. Yeah, I don’t get recognized at all, but it’s nice.”
That’s just one part of our exclusive interview. You can see what else Sophie had to say by watching the video below:
