Every time Ozzy Lusth competes on Survivor, he has the fans by his side — and his performance on Survivor: South Pacific is proof of that. Although he wasn’t able to win the $1 million prize and title of sole Survivor, Ozzy walked away with the $100,000 check since he was voted as the fan favorite. After the live reunion show, I had the opportunity to talk with the Mowgli-like castaway about his third experience on Survivor. During our one-on-one chat on the red carpet, Ozzy discussed being so close to winning the game, talked about his relationships on the island and explained why he loves nature so much. “It’s amazing to feel that love from people that you’ve never met you before,” Ozzy said of all the support he’s received from fans. “I could actually feel it just like emanating from around the world, really. At the same time, it’s so much pressure. I could feel it even when I was out there because I fought such an uphill battle the whole way. When it came time to the final challenge and that final puzzle piece, it just got to be too much. I’ve never experienced that kind of pressure in my life. My mind went absolutely blank. I couldn’t get past that. The fact is, I’m just so grateful. I’m really just so grateful, and I feel so blessed to have the support of all the people that watch the show and love Survivor and really like the way I played the game.”
