Facing jail time is a real possibility for Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey Teresa Giudice’s husband, Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice. Joe Giudice, 40, was indicted earlier this week on two separate counts. The first count, for wrongfully using identifying information of another, carries up to 10 years in prison. The second count, for impersonation, can carry up to 18 months in prison.
Joe Giudice’s troubles started back in March, when his brother Pietro was pulled over during a routine traffic stop. Police soon discovered that Pietro and Joe’s identities were a little too intertwined. When they ran Pietro’s license, Joe’s photo popped up. According to the police charges, Joe used his brother’s marriage and birth certificates to renew his license, after his own license was suspended for a DUI charge. It seems Joe keeps digging his hole deeper and deeper with this one, one bad decision after another.
The legal drama, however, hasn’t kept the couple from appearing on all three seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Having four daughters haven’t stopped them from engaging in legal (and other) drama either. Joe’s already been behind bars for 10 days for driving on that same suspended license. Last spring, Teresa and Joe got into a bar brawl while vacationing in the Dominican Republic and faced a civil suit as a result. The couple was sued in 2010 by a former employee. In October 2010, Joe filed for bankruptcy, although he did later withdraw his claim. Teresa is well-known for her temper, including flipping tables and fighting with family, on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
