Giuliana Rancic returned to the set of E! News on Tuesday, just 2 weeks after undergoing a successful double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. So how did Giuliana feel about getting back to work? Read on to get the latest on her brave battle against breast cancer.
Giuliana Rancic, star of the Style Network’s Guiliana and Bill and co-host of E! News, was on the air for the first time in 2 weeks Tuesday night. She started her first news cast since returning from a successful double mastectomy and reconstruction by thanking fans for their love, prayers and support.
This fall, Giuliana announced that cancerous tumors had been found in her breast during a mammogram. Giuliana has shared her heartbreaking journey to have a child with the world on her reality show. It was one of her in vitro fertilization doctors that required the mammogram that may have saved her life. The 37-year-old was not planning on having one until the normal recommended age of 40, but the doctors insisted and the cancer was found in its early stages.
After an unsuccessful lumpectomy, Giuliana underwent the double mastectomy to get rid of the last of the cancerous cells and almost eliminate the chance for the cancer to return. Upon returning to work, the E! News co-anchor told E! online, “Thankfully, I’ve been feeling better every single day since surgery and this weekend my doctors gave me the green light to get back to work”. She continued, “Even though I moved a tad slower than usual today, everyone welcomed me back with open arms and it was a wonderful homecoming.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Giuliana as she continues her fight against breast cancer and resumes her journey to have a baby.
