Who better to put the engagement ring rumor mill to rest than the jeweler who designed it? Read on to find out more…
Jewelry designer Loree Rodkin, whose celebrity clients also include Cher, Elton John, Madonna and Keith Richard, designed the engagement ring that Steven Tyler gave to his 38-year-old girlfriend, Erin Brady: a 5-carat round, brilliant-cut diamond, sitting on a platinum band adorned with a carat of micropavé diamonds.
“Having made Steven’s jewelry for so many of the past years it was an honor to be part of his future…with all my love to Steven and Erin,” said Rodkin to Us Weekly. According to his longtime jeweler and contrary to the knowledge of his family members, the American Idol judge had been planning to pop the surprise question to Erin for a while. Despite his busy work and travel schedules, he coordinated the details with Rodkin in Los Angeles via text.
“He was working, so I picked stones, built settings, showed him choices and sent him pictures on his phone,” she told People. “He asked for guidance but the choice was his. Having made jewelry for both Erin and Steven made it an effortless process, as I know their taste.”
