Yesterday Donald Trump unveiled the new cast of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, debuting Sunday, February 12, 9/8c. Among the diverse group of celebrities is 25-year-old former Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza. Read on to see who the Venezuelan singer and TV personality will compete against for $250,000 in charitable donations.
Dayana Mendoza was born in Caracas, Venezuela and grew up in a very close family. Discovered at a bus stop at 13, the beauty was soon doing catalog campaigns for Max Mara and Costume Nacional. On July, 13, 2008 Dayana Mendoza was crowned Miss Universe in Vietnam.
As Miss Universe, Dayana traveled the world as an advocate to raise HIV/AIDS awareness by educating women about their reproductive health. After handing over her Miss Universe title, Dayana has continued her fight to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS by working as a spokesperson for Population Services International. As part of her duties she traveled to Managua, Nicaragua and visited hospitals and mobile units to visit people with HIV and AIDS. Dayana Mendoza was able to see first-hand how the organization was helping people in their targeted areas receive treatment and education about HIV/AIDS.
On this edition of Donald Trump’s television franchise, celebrities compete to raise money for their favorite charities. Dayana Mendoza, staying true to her mission to educate on HIV/AIDS awareness, is competing to raise money for The Latino Commission on AIDS.
Dayana will face some steep competition when the show premieres on February 12. The cast includes former talk show host and comedian Arsenio Hall, model Cheryl Tiegs, American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken, former teen idol Debbie Gibson, the Incredible Hulk Lou Ferrigno, New Jersey Housewife Teresa Guidice and Victoria Gotti.
