Nick Cannon is probably wishing for a new start to 2012. The host of NBC’s America’s Got Talent has spent most of the new year in the hospital with kidney failure. Now that he’s been transferred to a hospital in L.A, it seems that he’s still in quite a bit of pain. Read on to find out how he’s doing and what this means for his future.
Nick Cannon might be back in L.A., but the kidney failure is still causing “a lot of pain.” Mariah Carey, his wife since 2008, might know a thing or two about pain, since she was the one in the hospital last year after giving birth to the couple’s twins, Monroe and Moroccan. Mariah Carey even tweeted, ”Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are.”
Kidney failure can lead to kidney disease, from which more than 26 million American adults suffer. While it sounds like Nick Cannon is well on the road to recovery and not at risk, that’s not always the case for young Black adults. In fact, they are at greater risk than the average population, according to a report from John Hopkins University School of Medicine.
As he continues on the road to recovery, Nick Cannon can be sure that Mariah Carey will be at his side. She’s been tweeting updates regularly to keep his fans informed while he recuperates. Certainly, that has to make the pain a little more bearable.
