The Bachelor Contestant Jenna Burke’s Colleague Discusses Her Odd Behavior

January 05, 2012 12:31 PM by Lisa Princ

This week, on the season premiere of ABC’s The Bachelor with Ben Flajnik, we watched as Jenna Burke was the subject of drama on the very first night. In an interview, one of Jenna’s colleagues took some time to share her thoughts on the drama and tears. Read on to hear what she had to say!

The Bachelor premiered this week as Ben Flajnik met the ladies who would be vying for his heart this season. On the premiere, we watched as Jenna Burke spent most of her time crying, causing for a very dramatic evening, but Ben kept her around anyway. After the episode aired, one of Jenna Burke’s colleagues spoke about the drama to Wetpaint where she said: “That was not the person I know at all. They portrayed her like she was insane! I was watching it with my mouth open. I was like, ‘What is this?’”

Jenna Burke has a blog called over-analyst and she has admitted to overanalyzing situations, could that be why there was so much drama surrounding she and Monica? In any event, her colleague, who has remained anonymous went on to say: “Normally, Jenna is an articulate, sweet and very well-balanced girl. She’s charming and adaptable. I can only imagine that what we saw on TV was a reaction to the very strange and bizarre environment she’s in. You know, in New York, single people go to bars or lounges. This is not a situation she’s used to dealing with.”

The friend went on to add that she feels the show is portraying Jenna to be a drama queen, even though she is not. Hmm, maybe Jenna’s colleague was watching a different show than we were? She sure came across as a drama queen to the rest of us viewing. What are your thoughts on Jenna Burke? Are you looking forward to seeing more of her and the drama? What did you think of this week’s premiere of The Bachelor? Which lady or ladies are you rooting for? Comment and share your thoughts with us!

I liked Jenna when she first stepped out the the limo, but then she got realy emotional and was one hot mess. Who cares if she felt Monica didn’t like her, she didn’t know her. Move on and focus on Ben!

I liked Jenna to but the one girl that was nasty to her I did not like and was shocked when he gave that girl a rose. Monica was a real pain and a sure troublemaker. I hope he gets rid of Monica because she should not of been like that to Jenna. I do believe that Monica is bisexual and they say she is not but I saw what I saw and I believe she is no matter what her friends are saying.

So much of this program appears to be theatre – so much is obviously staged and therefore not real. It amazes me that American women can so easily burst into tears once the camera is on them. So you got thrown out the first night – so what? you just didn’t measure up. Get over it and MOVE ON. Somehow I don’t think I’ll watch this series….I just hope the best for Ben – I hope he finds his true love THIS TIME.

I agree. She takes everything wayyyy too personally. She was more obsessed with Monica, a total stranger, and what these women thought of her, than she was with Ben! She keeps complaining that Monica isn’t there for ben. But she’s not behaving as if SHE is there for Ben, either. Instead, she’s behaving as if she is there to be dramatic, and nothing else. That’s probably not how she FEELS… she probably FEELS that she IS there for Ben. But she needs to learn how to block out anything and everyone but Ben if she is going to win him over. That also means blocking out catty girls, insecurities, drama, the opinions of others, etc. Who CARES if Monica didn’t walk in swooning over Ben? Why is that Jenna’s business? She’s one massive hot mess for SURE. I would never dream of checking out her blog. Who wants to read a blog about love and relationships, written by somebody like that? To get advice about relationships and love? From her? That would be the very definition of insanity. Oy VEY.

Out of the twenty five girls, there were only about five that I would have kept. The rest of them I would have ran as fast as I could from them! Good Luck Ben – you are gonna need it!

Well, I think that the second episode where Jenna doesn’t get a rose and she’s so mortified shows that she truly is crazy and in need of some dating men therapy. Really, she made no sense at all. And when Ben moved away the blanket off a burning candle and he said it wasn’t good she replied really.

I guess in her head she had no idea a blanket was going to catch fire. Instead she was in her own crazy lalala land and thought Ben was saying it wasn’t good with her. And sure enough it wasn’t. Every time they spoke she made no sense.

When she stated everyone deserves love and cried. Of course they do. But what man would put himself in the situation of dating such an unstable person. You can’t blame Monica this time who clearly stayed away from her.
