The hit 90s sketch comedy show, In Living Color, introduced us to mega stars like Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, and Jennifer Lopez, and it’s coming back to FOX. If you didn’t know, you’re not alone. Apparently, JLo didn’t get the memo either. But the American Idol judge is thrilled about the show’s return, and says that she’d love the chance to get involved. So can we expect to see Lopez kickin’ it as a “Fly Girl” again?
“Oh my God, I didn’t even know! That’s awesome,” Lopez told Access Hollywood when asked for her thoughts on the return of Keenen Ivory Wayans’ In Living Color, where she started out dancing as a “Fly Girl.”
“I haven’t heard from [Keenen], but if he called me and wanted me to do something, that would be awesome,” she gushed.
And we’re sure that with Jennifer’s wild success since her humble beginnings on the FOX show, creator Keenen Ivory Wayans is rushing to make that call! Although, it’s probably likely that Lopez would be doing more than dancing this time around.
“I owe Keenen a lot,” says Lopez. “From the beginning of my career, he always believed in me, he always was constantly putting in my brain, ‘You’re gonna be a star, you’re gonna be a star, do you know that?’ And he was a mentor to me so I wish him the best with that.”
When In Living Color returns, it will again be hosted by Wayans, who also serves as executive producer. As it did in the 90s, the sketch show will feature young talent, musical performances, and special guests.
No word yet on whether any famous alums will be coming back to their old stomping grounds for cameos, but we’re hoping to see Carrey’s Fire Marshall Bill and Vera.
