Can Amber Portwood be a good role model for her 3-year-old daughter, Leah? She sure thinks so. In a letter written to her brother, the Teen Mom star, currently in jail for violating parole, says that she’s not an “endangerment to society,” and that if given the chance, she can show little Leah “what a good mother is.” Find out what else Portwood had to say after the jump.
Amber Portwood sure has had a lot of time on her hands since being sent to jail in December for violating her parole. In that time, the MTV reality star has been doing some thinking about her life; specifically, about her role as a mother to her daughter, Leah.
“I don’t think I’ll ever take this sh-t for granted,” Portwood, 21, writes in a letter to her brother, obtained by TMZ. “I’m really scared I’m going to prison. I don’t know what I’ll do. All I think about is Leah and how she needs a role model. If I can get out, I can really show her what a good mother is.”
“I don’t want people thinking I’m this crazy b–ch,” adds Amber. “I am a good person and I pray that I can change my life!”
Apologizing for her bad handwriting, explaining that “the pens they give us bend so we can’t stab anyone,” Portwood argues that she’s not an “endangerment to society.”
“This sh-t is getting out of hand,” Amber complains to her brother. “I wouldn’t hurt anyone!”
Amber Portwood is scheduled to appear in court on January 27. If convicted, the reality star faces up to two years in prison.
Her daughter, Leah, 3, currently resides with Amber’s ex, Gary Shirley, who was recently awarded full custody of the tot.
