The heat is on in the kitchen with just seven chefs still competing to become the next ‘Top Chef.’ Legendary Chef Eric Ripert is the guest chef on tonight’s episode of Top Chef: Texas airing on Bravo. Later on in the reality TV competition, the chefs cook a gothic dinner for Oscar winner Charlize Theron.
The still-standing chefs include Sarah Grueneberg, Chris Jones, Lindsay Autry, Beverly Kim, Paul Qui, Edward Lee and Grayson Schmitz. They’re all vying for a feature in Food & Wine magazine, a showcase at the Aspen Food and Wine Classic, $100,000 and the title of ‘Top Chef.’
For the Quickfire Challenge the chefs must grab three surprise ingredients from a moving conveyer belt. After doing the best with what they got, Lindsay wins the challenge and receives immunity for the elimination dinner.
The chefs are in for another surprise when they have to prepare a gothic feast for actress Charlize Theron from the upcoming film, Snow White and the Huntsman. Each chef must prepare a wickedly delicious course for the judges. Host Padma Lakshmi, guest judge Charlize Theron, guest Chef Eric Ripert as well as Emeril Lagasse and Tom Colicchio enjoy the twisted but tasty treats the chefs create.
After tasting each course, the judges have to decide who will stay and who will go. Tonight, all of the judges agree that the chefs prepared the best meals of the season and that the decision will be a very difficult one.
During the judge’s panel, Paul is selected as the chef who prepared the best dish. He wins two tickets to the world premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman. Next, the judges choose to eliminate Beverly Kim from the competition.
