Bitter, party of two. After getting the boot from The Real Housewives of New York City, Alex McCord and hubby Simon Van Kempen are hoping to stay in the spotlight a little longer with a new show – Brownstone Brooklyn, but not without slamming the Bravo reality program that gave them their start first. Find out all the details about the couple’s diss to RHNYC after the jump.
So much for their “friendly departure.” While the other ladies of The Real Housewives of New York City are “in high school,” Alex McCord is in Brooklyn, living her life with other 30-something parents. In fact, she’s hoping to tell you all about it in a new show, tentatively called Brownstone Brooklyn.
In an email written to friends, obtained by The New York Post, McCord and her husband Simon Van Kempen, attempt to solicit participation in their new reality TV venture.
“While we were sad to lose the dollars…we weren’t sad to be off that particular show,” the couple writes, calling out Housewives for being a “train wreck” and fake.
“We would never expose ourselves to another faux reality show,” McCord and Van Kempen assure recipients in their email.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’d rule out working with Bravo for their next project. (Hey, they’ve gotta eat, don’t they?!)
“I don’t know, I hadn’t, that’s doesn’t mean I wouldn’t, it’s not just me either if we did this it would be Simon and me together,” a flustered Alex told The Post when asked if she’d accept an offer from the network.
What do you think…. Will Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen’s reality show get off the ground, and will you watch if it does? Tell us what you think in the Comments section below.
