Last week, we announced that The Glee Project will be returning to Oxygen for a second season this summer. Sure, the judges will remain the same as last year (including the FOX show’s creator Ryan Murphy), but who will be joining the talent competition’s first episode? None other than the original Glee diva herself, Lea Michele!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the headlining actress of Glee has been tapped to guest mentor during the Season 2 premiere of The Glee Project.
Lea Michele has played the character of Rachel Berry throughout Glee’s three seasons and has picked up Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her role.
“So excited to announce that I’ll be guest mentoring on the season 2 premiere of the Glee Project,” the actress tweeted over the weekend.
On the first season of The Glee Project, the show’s regular characters often stopped in as guest mentors. Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang), Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson), Dot Marie Jones (Shannon Beiste), Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang), among others, each shared their on-set wisdom with the hopefuls who aspired to join the cast.
Again, the winner of the second season will earn a seven-episode guest arc on Glee.
Any chance we’ll be able to see heartthrobs Mark Salling (Noah Puckerman) or Cory Montieth (Finn Hudson) on The Glee Project? Or how about show business veterans Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester), Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) or Idina Menzel (Shelby Corcoran)?
Tune in this summer to see who will show up as a guest mentor, and who will win the second season of The Glee Project!
