It’s a race against time tonight for the remaining chefs competing on Bravo’s hit reality TV series, Top Chef: Texas. The chefs need to bring their best game tonight since it’s all about speed. First, the contestant’s pair up and work in teams for the Quickfire Challenge then find out they’re competing against each other for the Elimination Challenge!
The six still-standing chefs include Sarah Grueneberg, Chris Jones, Lindsay Autry, Paul Qui, Edward Lee and Grayson Schmitz. They’re all vying for a feature in Food & Wine magazine, a showcase at the Aspen Food and Wine Classic, $125,000 and the title of ‘Top Chef.’ The guest judge is Cat Cora.
For the Quickfire Challenge the chefs are paired up in teams to cook for host Padma Lakshmi, Judge Chef Emeril Lagasse and guest judge Cat Cora. The teams include Paul and Ed; Grayson and Chris; and Sarah and Lindsay. The winning team will receive $10,000. The teams work to beat the clock in a timed challenge. A big mistake costs Ed and Paul the cash prize when Paul forgets to put the shrimp on the plate for the judges! Ultimately, Chris and Grayson are selected as the winners.
Next, the chefs find out they will be cooking against their teammates for the elimination challenge. They will be serving 200 guests at a block party. The winner will receive $15,000. Lindsay and Sarah are making meatballs, Grayson and Chris are whipping up chicken salad sandwiches and Paul and Ed are making an Asian infused dish. After tasting the dishes, the guest’s vote for who they think served the best food.
After tasting each dish, the judges have to decide who will stay and who will go. During the judge’s panel, Paul is selected as the chef who prepared the best block party dish. He wins $15,000. Next, the judges choose to eliminate Chris Jones.
