Its pancake time with Pee-Wee Herman! On tonight’s episode of Top Chef: Texas, TV personality Pee-Wee Herman is the guest judge. The reality TV competition airing on Bravo is down to five chefs fighting it out to become the new ‘Top Chef.’ Keep reading to find out who cooks the best pancake for Pee-Wee Herman!
The remaining chefs include Sarah Grueneberg, Lindsay Autry, Paul Qui, Edward Lee and Grayson Schmitz. They’re all vying for a feature in Food & Wine magazine, a showcase at the Aspen Food and Wine Classic, $125,000 and the title of ‘Top Chef.’
For the Quickfire Challenge the still standing chefs have to cook a pancake for Pee Wee. After tasting all of the different variations the chefs created, Ed Lee is selected as the winner therefore he gets to take home $5,000.
In the movie, Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, Pee-Wee’s bicycle was stolen. So in honor of his search the chefs need to get their ingredients, find restaurants to prepare and cook their food and then make it to the Alamo all while on bikes. Once at the Almo they will serve Pee-Wee and thejudges a family style lunch for this week’s Elimination Challenge. This task is truly a race against time. After biking around San Antonio with just maps, the chefs each find restaurants where they begin th eir cooking. As soon as they’ve finished, they dash off to the Alamo.
With just a little bit of time left to make finishing touches on their dishes, the chefs hurry to complete their challenge. Each chef presents their dishes to guest judge Pee-Wee Herman along with Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons.
After tasting each dish, the judges have to decide who will stay and who will go. During the judge’s panel, Lindsay is selected as the chef who prepared the best lunch. Next, the judges choose to eliminate Grayson Schmitz.
