Emily Maynard Chats About Being The New Bachelorette

February 02, 2012 09:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Emily Maynard was recently revealed by ABC to be the next star of The Bachelorette, but is Emily ready for the spotlight? In a recent interview, Emily Maynard chatted about the upcoming season, and how she feels like a hypocrite for signing onto the show!

The Bachelorette will begin production next month, but Emily Maynard may not be ready – in fact, the blonde beauty recently revealed that she is nervous of what’s to come! In an interview with People Magazine, Emily said: “It really hasn’t hit me, what I’ve signed on to do. I’m scared to death.”

Emily Maynard became engaged to Brad Womack on season 15 of The Bachelor in March, but then the pair split in May, as rumors claimed that Brad was not adjusting well to being a step-dad. Despite that folks may think that Emily should have no problem finding love, she reveals that it is actually harder than people think, due to her being a single mom. Emily added: “I can’t go out every night of the week. They just kind of fizz out before they ever have a chance to become anything.”

Emily Maynard also told People Magazine that she feels like a hypocrite because she said in the past that she would never do The Bachelorette, but then changed her mind. Is she hopeful that she will find love on the show? Emily Maynard admitted that she knows it is possible, despite the fact that she and Brad split.

Are you excited to hear that Emily Maynard will be the new star of The Bachelorette? We sure hope Emily Maynard finds love on the new season. Comment and share your thoughts with us!

I really can’t see Emily kissing all kinds of men she’s not really
attracted to. She’s very picky. However she picked the wrong
guy with Brad. He was never the right guy for her. I hope
the show picks just the right kind of men Emily likes or she
might just walked off the show. I know the public and all the
men want her to be The Bachelorette, but I think she is going
to be really out of her comfort zone from start to finish. She’s
going need a lot of help along the way. In the end I’m sure she
will find a man who is a better fit for her than Brad. Hopefully
she will find her soul mate. She will be the best Bachelorette that I’ve seen. I didn’t watch the earlier seasons. I sure hope the scripts will start changing.

I think Emily will be a most boring bachelorette. She thinks she is so much better than anyone else and wants everyone to feel sorry for her cause she can not find love. She had a good man in Brad, but I am glad they are not together. She is not as classy as everyone thinks she is and cant see her going through everything that has to be done on the show and so much time away from her daughter even though she did it once before on the bachelor. I just dont like her. They could have picked someone better than her. Are there no good candidates out there?

Personally, I do think that Brad and Emily were a great couple! Of course, I wasn’t privately in their relationship, but I think Brad was genuine in his feelings and belief in them as a couple. Someone who has not been a parent certainly could find it difficult, but I wonder if this is really the “true” reason they did not succeed. Emily, appears to be sweet, but I wonder if we can judge the book by its cover. She had to know it was not going to be an easy rode with Brad. So why oh why would she believe it would difficult this time? Finding a real relationship in an unreal environment and in such a short time, is ridiculous!

Emily is not a hypocrite. It’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind. Good luck Em!
