Barbershops aren’t quite the same as they used to be. Now, when men want to get a shave or a haircut, they can do so while enjoying a cocktail, playing a little Xbox or pool, and that’s not all. So where does one go to find this new breed of barbershop? Who better to give us the scoop than Tabatha Coffey of Bravo‘s Tabatha Takes Over. Keep reading for Coffey’s top picks!
“Barbershops are becoming cool and trendy again,” Tabatha Takes Over star Tabatha Coffey tells USA Today, pointing to The Barbershop at Spa Toccare in Atlantic City to start off her list of the best shops in the biz.
Definitely not for the penny-pincher, this shop is located in the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa, where guests are encouraged to play a game of pool or watch something on one of their wide-screen TVs before or after their haircut, straight shave, pedicure, or waxing.
“It’s about pampering yourself and taking care of yourself, and that’s fantastic,” says Coffey.
Hungry and in need of a stiff drink? If you’re in New York City, stop by The Blind Barber. The retro shop has a full pizza menu and offers a free cocktail to every customer (we’re assuming that’s every customer who’s 21 and over).
In Miami, Sloane Square Barbers & Shoppe offers a gym-like membership to clients, who can pay one monthly fee and come in for as many haircuts as they’d like.
