Dancing With The Stars fans have been eyeing Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow as someone they’d love to see compete on the celebrity ballroom floor. Last season’s champion J.R. Martinez finally asked him about the potential opportunity. Will the athlete soon be on the hit ABC show? Read on for the answer, and Martinez’ pick for who else should make their dancing debut!
While in Indianapolis for the Super Bowl, J.R. Martinez hung out with the Broncos quarterback and mentioned the topic of DWTS.
“I actually did come across Tim Tebow, and we chatted about [Dancing With the Stars] for a second,” J.R. said. “I thought he’d do pretty well on the show!”
So what did Tim say about possibly trading in his football helmet for some dancing shoes?
“He said, ‘Maybe in a year’…That’s pretty much what he said.”
Last month, Karina Sminoff expressed that she’d love to have Tebow as her partner. ”He can run, jump, pass, throw touchdowns,” she told People. “All [that] is missing is to see if he has the dance skills. That would make him an all-around athlete, and someone that I would love to dance with on the show.”
J.R. had his own pick for who he’d like to see in an upcoming season. “I think Sherri Shepherd from The View would be good. We talked about it a couple times when I was still in New York. I think she’d do good on it.”
