Will The Voice Season Three Run This Fall?

February 08, 2012 08:00 AM by Ashley Lee

Are you loving the second season of The Voice so far? So is everyone else, since the chair-turning singing competition is pulling in higher ratings than American Idol and The X Factor. Rumor has it that a third season may be slated in the fall, but the NBC show won’t be featuring all of the current judges. So who would be out: Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine or Christina Aguilera?

Vulture heard a rumor from a source at NBC that the network is considering expanding The Voice to two cycles per year, meaning that a third season would premiere in the fall.

Which judge is on board for both? Christina Aguilera…and that’s it.

Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have agreed to a single edition of The Voice each year, but may not have the time to commit to two cycles. Because of this, the show’s producers have discussed the possibility of introducing three new judges to the chairs. Aguilera has already agreed to another season of The Voice, and her contract specifies that she’ll appear on the show this fall.

Of all four judges, won’t Christina be the busiest as she’ll probably be promoting her new album? She promised it wouldn’t be a flop like Bionic or her acting debut, Burlesque!

Would you watch a second cycle of The Voice later this year? Or should NBC just give it a normal half-year hiatus?
