Good and bad news for Celebrity Apprentice star Ivanka Trump. After being deemed psychologically unfit for trial for months, the man who relentlessly harassed Trump and husband Jared Kushner finally plead guilty and was sentenced to six months of jail time. So what’s the bad news?
Self-professed “celebrity stalker,” Justin Massler finally plead guilty to aggravated harassment and criminal contempt charges on Thursday (February 9), after sending a number of disparaging emails, tweets, and online videos to Ivanka Trump of NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice, and her husband, Jared Kushner, publisher of The New York Observer.
According to prosecutors, Massler’s “dream in life” was to marry Trump, but the 20-something New York native’s communications with Ivanka became alarming when he threatened to commit suicide in her Manhattan jewelry store and mentioned that he wanted to “talk some sense into” Kushner.
“I won’t just be ignored,” Massler wrote in an email to The Observer in August.
In another message, Massler – who had his name legally changed to Cloud Starchaser – said that he would die before being caught, and vowed to “go down in a hail of gunfire.”
After his arrest he was ordered to stay away from Trump and her family, but Massler continued to attempt to contact them.
The bad news….
Although he’s plead guilty and was sentenced to six months in jail, Massler has already served his time behind bars, so all that’s left is five years of probation, during which he must continue with his psychiatric treatment and medication.
According to Massler’s attorney, “When he’s on his medication, he’s fine. He’s lucid, he’s reasonable.”
Let’s hope so!
The new season of Celebrity Apprentice premieres Sunday, February 12th at 9|8c.
