Whitney Houston may have blown us away with her incredible voice, but the singer was no stranger to reality television either. Whitney Houston also performed with her powerful voice on such shows as Dancing With The Stars
Ironically, as Simon Cowell spoke out about Whitney’s death last night, he revealed that she was being considered for one of the judging spots left open for next season. Simon Cowell spoke to Piers Morgan, and he told Piers that he had planned a meeting on Monday to chat about judges, with Whitney Houston being one of the names that he was interested in. Simon added: “Given the choice, I would have liked to have taken her under my wing as well, because she would have been the ultimate, ultimate mentor to any contestant coming on the show.”
Simon Cowell was onto something as anyone who has listened to Whitney Houston knows that her powerful voice was a force to be reckoned with, and she certainly would have been a huge asset to the show. Simon went on to say that he was crushed by the news of Whitney Houston’s death, and added: “You’re going to remember where you were when you heard the news. It’s that significant…I am absolutely devastated by this news. I am so sad for her. She was undoubtedly one of the greatest superstars of all time, one of the greatest voices in our life time we’re likely ever to hear.”
