It’s been a sad day for music lovers, reflecting upon the death of legendary singer Whitney Houston. Coupled with the news of her untimely death are the sad reports of her final days. The Los Angeles Times reports that on Thursday evening at a rehearsal for a pre-Grammys party, Houston was wet with sweat, smelled like alcohol, and appeared bloated. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stacy Francis of X Factor fame was in attendance at the same party on Thursday night and performed an Etta James tribute. Francis had worked with Houston many years prior and was reintroduced to Houston after her performance. Houston could not remember her at first but was cordial, but the mood changed when R&B singer Ray-J stepped into the conversation.
Houston allegedly felt threatened and became belligerent, while Ray-J was trying to calm her down and defend Francis, saying: “Stacy’s family!” Houston was apparently feeling “crowded out and hands were raised.” THR reached out to Stacy Francis for comment who would only say: ”I have the utmost respect for Whitney Houston and her talent.” Francis has not acknowledged the incident on her Twitter account; however, a follower did write to @stacyfrancis: “You are so lucky to have gotten to meet her on THURSDAY…#whitneyhouston - did she seem off to you at all?” Francis responded: “yes I was. I am so sad. so so sad.”
Former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson will perform a tribute to Whitney Houston on the Grammys this evening. Be sure to check back with RTVM for more details on Whitney Houston’s death as they become available.
