It has been weeks since Sophie Clarke was crowned the winner of Survivor: South Pacific, but a whole new adventure starts tomorrow night. Survivor: One World — the 24th edition of the show — begins with 18 all-new castaways in Samoa in the always epic battle for $1 million. If you truly can’t wait for the show to begin, we have a treat for you because two minutes of the premiere episode have been posted online. Read on for more info and to watch the marooning and some of the game’s early schemes!
The exclusive video from the Survivor: One World premiere — posted on EW.com — shows host Jeff Probst revealing the tribe names and colors to the batch of newbies. Then the game immediately begins when Probst says, “Before I send you on your adventure, I’m going to give you 60 seconds to strip everything you can off this truck. Got it? Your time starts now.”
As the two tribes gather the goods from the truck, Michael Jefferson shows his villainous colors by swiping some of the Salani tribe’s stash when they’re not paying any attention. When the 60 seconds wraps up, the women’s tribe looks stunned by the few supplies they actually acquired. “Where’s that ax that we got?” one of them says. “I brought an ax over here so somebody come on our territory and took one.”
Although the guys deny stealing anything, Michael owns up to his deed in an early confessional. “I stole everything from them. It was just too easy, it was like I had to go get it.”
While it’s not the most thrilling marooning Survivor has ever done, Michael’s move definitely makes the whole thing exciting. If this is just a sign of all that’s in store, Survivor: One World could be a solid season. It all kicks off at 8 p.m. EST this Wednesday night!
What do you think of Michael? Do you think his move to steal the women’s stuff was fair? Who is your favorite castaway so far? Who do you like the least? Who is the best looking? Who is the strongest? Which tribe do you think will win the first challenge? Who will be voted off first? Get the chatter going and leave a comment below!
