Chris Brown may have worked hard to win back his fans after the violent pre-Grammy attack of then girlfriend Rihanna, in February of 2009, but not everyone is ready to get on board with Team Breezy; especially not country vocalist and NBC‘s Voice mentor Miranda Lambert.
“How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was?” Lambert tweeted on Monday (February 13) following the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. “Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl. Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen.”
The outspoken country star went on to suggest that Brown listen to her song ‘Gunpowder and Lead,’ and be “put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.”
“HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That’s the ultimate F*** OFF!” Brown tweeted in response to all the controversy.
This tweet, however, was quickly deleted and the singer tried again with a slightly more positive message.
“IM BACK SO WATCH MY BaCK as I walk away from all this negativity #teambreezygrammy.”
Do you agree with Miranda Lambert? Should Chris Brown have gotten so much love at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, performing not once, but twice during the broadcast? Does the rest of the world have to forgive him if Rihanna has? Sound off in the Comments section below.
