Miranda Lambert Keeps Twitter War Going With Chris Brown

February 16, 2012 08:29 AM by Lisa Princ

Miranda Lambert, mentor on NBC‘s Voice, and wife of Blake Shelton, recently took to to sound off about Chris Brown, in which Brown replied with some very vulgar remarks. If you thought this sweet little country girl would sit back quietly and take it, you obviously have not heard Gunpowder and Lead! Read on for the scoop!

Miranda Lambert hopped on Twitter following the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, where she posted: “Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl. Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.”

Miranda Lambert has no tolerance for men who beat on their women, which is something that Chris Brown was accused of by former flame, Rihanna. Miranda Lambert’s parents actually ran a shelter for abused women when she was growing up, so there is no question why she feels so strongly about the issue.

After her angry Tweet on Sunday, Chris Brown fired back with: “HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That’s the ultimate F*** OFF!” But soon after, Chris Brown’s post was deleted, and replaced with: “IM BACK SO WATCH MY BaCK as I walk away from all this negativity #teambreezygrammy.”

But Miranda Lambert is not about to let the Twitter war die, as she once again took to Twitter and said: ” Be who you are an stand for what u believe in. NO MATTER WHAT!,” adding: “Oh and one more thing for all who are asking….I have a Grammy too.” Obviously, those Tweets were directed at Chris Brown – let the war continue!

Do you agree with Miranda Lambert? Should Chris Brown have gotten so much love at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, performing not once, but twice during the broadcast? Does the rest of the world have to forgive him if Rihanna has? Sound off in the Comments section below.

I totally agree with Miranda Lambert and just because Rihanna has no brains and lost all of her credibility doesn’t mean the rest of us have to forgive that moron.

Actually she tweeted about having a Grammy b/c many of his fans kept tweeted her about being jealous b/c she didn’t have one in very vulgar language. I totally agree w/ Miranda on this one! The Grammys should not have given him a platform to perform 2X and treated it as his comeback. He came back from beating up a girl? Really. He had more screen time than the Whitney tribute. Good for Lambert to take a stand on the issue when so many others are afraid to do so publically.

I haven’t bought a Chris Brown song since he beat up Rhi. I won’y buy anything of his ever again. I think Miranda is right, why honor a man who beats women? Same thing for Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse. Why pay tribute to people who spent their entire lives coked out and high? Why not honor those people that die each day for everybody’s freedom?

Miranda is right. What is it that Mel Gibson voices anti jewish and anti asian comments and he was castigated and comments made to boycott his movies. But Chris Brown beats up a woman and Roman Polanski rapes a 13 year old and it seems that Hollyweird wants to kiss them. Not that Mel wasn’t wrong but physical violence is much worse than verbal.

While I understand that Miranda Lambert has NEVER made a mistake or said /done ANYTHING that she regrets, she is in the minority. Most people have done/said something that the wish they hadn’t. I believe that Chris is sorry for what he did and he has owned up to it and has done what was required of him by law.
If Rihanna has let it go and moved on with her life then Miranda Lambert damn sure should.

I don’t care for him. And real singing talent doesn’t require an auto-tune microphone, which he used. He’s not nice or gracious and people like him and Kanye West don’t need to be rewarded when their nothing but THUGS.

Chris Brown may have hit a woman and that is so wrong and against the law. He paid his debt to society because of it….get over it….hopefully he learned something and will never do it again. Miranda Lambert stole another woman’s husband which is not against the law but should be. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

Have to agree with Miranda on this one. It was Chris Brown’s intolerable actions which caused Rihanna to not perfom at the Grammy that year. The incident had occured prior to the Grammys and Rihanna had been schueduled to perform. I am shocked at how little time has gone by and the Grammys have already had him back. And if that wasn’t enough, they gave him too much air time for someone so undeserving. Thank you Miranda for not letting people forget. Chris Brown’s action do not reflect those of a remorseful guy.

Everyone deserves a second chance, Good for Chris
focusing on his career and what a brilliant talented man he is. I can’t get enough of Chris.
Miranda shame on you; have you never made a mistake are you really as perfect as YOU think you are. Poor Blake!

  15. MarMar Says:
    February 16th, 2012 at 9:32 am

Miranda should be quiet. I don’t think being judgemental is cool. Chris was a teenager when this happened and has said he’s gone through counseling and other treatment to address and deal with his anger issues, among other vices.

Blake Shelton was still legally married when they began dating. Let’s not talk about other folks issues lest yours become kindling for the fire.

What Chris did was wrong. No doubt about it. Rihanna has said she was physically abusive with Chris as well. No one discuss that point much.

Give Chris a chance to perfrom his craft and live his life. And shall we pray that Miranda and Blake don’t do anything scandalous….. normally those that throw twitter stones aren’t receptive if a pebble is tossed back at them…. i’m sure she’d like privacy and a chance at redemption if something ever jumped out of her east Texas closet….. Everyone should watch some of Rihannas videos since the incident with Chris Brown. It seems that she might actually LIKE being slapped around and maybe the whole incident was made to be bigger than it was. I am not condoning abuse but people like freaky things sometimes for pleasure. Just sayin…And was it Chris Brown’s decision to perform twice or was he asked to? The anger may need to be placed elsewhere.

When ever you here chris brown’s name its him fighting with a girl. But hey chrissy this is a country girl that you don’t want to mess with bc the entire country world will take you out. Starting with me come on down to south ga and get an ass kicking from a man

  21. Crisstinks Says:

Chris Brown is not talented. He dances like a back up dancer (not a good one, he would be cut from SYTYCD in a heart beat). He can’t sing, almost talks the words. Usher should just smack CBrown for even trying to be him. Oh yeah and I would love to fight him in a mma match, however he would go beat up some girl after I beat him like drum besides he weighs about as much as Justin Beiber.

  26. Winnie Says:

Yes. What happened was wrong. But hitting anyone is not okay. So the fact that Rihanna was hitting him as well, does that mean her career should be over? If someone drives drunk and causes and accident where someone is injured, should they never be allowed to get on with their lives? Mistakes are made. So long as you aren’t doing it repeatedly, he has a right to go on with his life. If you are against him being there, stay home. If you show up and choose to sit there watching him perfrom, then you are just as to blame for the “celebrating” of this person as anyone else. Perhaps you should pose that question to yourself Ms. Lambert.

To hell with Miranda Lambert. Yes what he did was wrong but understand that it didn’t happen to YOU!! As sure as you’re human you’ve done something you’re not proud of. Who the hell are you to hold that man’s flaws over his head? That happened 3 years ago. Let it go already!! They wonder why he’s so frustrated and lashing out on Twitter all the time. You people won’t let him live. The victim isn’t always the ONLY one who suffers after an incident. BOTH of them suffer in different ways and BOTH of them deserve to move on. The Grammy’s are about MUSIC. Not that man’s personal life or what he’s done in the past. If his music was Grammy worthy then you’re damn right he won and got to perform. How would you feel if someone held your mistakes over your head for the rest of your life? No matter how much you’ve tried to change and better yourself? Believe it or not, all the hatred and nonsense he takes from the media and other artists, could very push him over the edge…… HOLD IT TOGETHER CHRIS!!!

Kudos to you Miranda! I said the same thing on Grammy night. I think its a sick society we live in that we awarded him grammys and invited him to perform, not once but TWICE!! Sickening! People defend him by saying everybody makes mistakes and I agree with them but most people show some remorse for those mistakes. He beat up his girlfriend! He’s laughing in our faces all the way to the bank (carrying his grammy!).

First of all I am 100% with Miranda on this. It’s sickening that Chris Brown got to perform at the Grammys, there are many, non violent artists who deserve the attention more.

And second of all, Miranda stole no one’s husband. . . you can’t “steal” a man. A man makes his own decision to leave his wife. You don’t “OWN” people.

It’s sickening that probably the people supporting Chris Brown’s past and whining about Miranda’s past are probably women. Though both actions are not the best, beating someone up is a lot different than hooking up with a person who is married.

  42. MayMae Says:
    February 16th, 2012 at 3:06 pm

Miranda might have met Blake and became friends with him while he was married, but she refused to date him until long after he was divorced (learn before you slam.) Also, I could not stand Chris Brown before he beat Rhianna. He has no natural talent, and I do not understand why so many people are okay with what he did. We chastise people for making racial slurs, which I am against, but yet ignore the fact that people are physically abusive. Sure he had some probation time, but what means he never did it before the whole incident went public?

Go Miranda! There needs to be more people with enough backbone to speak up. Abuse is abuse and we need to treat it equally important!

  43. Nukemom1952 Says:
    February 16th, 2012 at 3:45 pm

I hadn’t heard about this, but I was surprised that Chris Brown was given so much airtime, as his talent is not vast; I’ve watched that Grammys for years, and it just seemed strange that he got the airtime, rather than having it spread around to other, far more talented performers. It doesn’t make sense, and it has nothing to do with his personal life.

However, I’m incredibly offended at his comments on Twitter, especially since so many kids sign up for his tweets; he can say–and if past behaviour is anything to go by, he will–that no one has a right to tell him how to express himself, but that’s an empty argument. Being a public figure, someone who makes a living off others buying what he sells, makes for a responsibility level that I somehow doubt he’s achieved.

Those who lambast Miranda Lambert have missed the point–what she is pointing out is valid; while I agree with those who say everyone deserves a second chance, IMHO he had his, and he blew it when he replied to her comments in the way that he did.

  44. Jamie Says:
    February 16th, 2012 at 4:43 pm

I am sorry but Miranda cheered for Glen Campbell and if I am not mistaken, didn’t he also abuse a spouse/partner? It is easy to judge but how can it be okay for Campbell to perform but not for Brown. If you are going to say things like that, it should be across the board. You can’t just say if a young black man beats up a woman it is not okay- it should be if any man beats up a woman. But no, she is okay with Campbell but not Brown. Go figure.

  45. Mike Chen Says:
    February 16th, 2012 at 6:49 pm

People are so stupid.. its the GRAMMYs. if the awards were given according to Miranda’s criteria then Nelson Mandela and Mother Theresa should get grammys too. Chris Brown wasnt given an award for Boyfriend of the Year. The award was for an RnB album so if u have a problem with the fact that he got a grammy it should be about the music cuz otherwize the awards lose value. i support you if people boycott his music but i think its stupid to judge art based on the artist’s image and not the work itself.

All these posts giving Miranda Kudos…well, here’s a little FYI…Glenn Campbell graced the stage of the Grammy’s…he was introduced by no other than Miranda Lambert…

Glenn Campbell beat the crap out of Tanya Tucker, which resulted in her jaw being broken and her teeth knocked out…

Tell us Miranda, where is your outrage for Glenn?
And I wonder why the author of this article didn’t mention that?

Miranda only said what ALL the rest of the women in America were thinking re: Chris Brown performing twice at the Grammy’s. HE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN THERE; not even in the audience. Revolting. Even if Rhi said to give him a second chance (which she did last year), the rest of the world SHOULD be more enlightened in this day and age that abusing your wife/girlfriend is a zero-tolerance offense. Period. He doesn’t now and never will deserve a “second chance.”

Do not agree with Miranda at all, and I am a fan. From what I remember the incident was not all about a man beating on a woman, but about TWO people fighting and it was about an altercation that got out of hand. What Chris did was illegal and he was held accountable, recieved punishment, not only in court, but publicly as well. He was a kid who acted young, stupid and entitled, as do most young celebreties. I am so sick of this never ending simpathy for Riana….she acted stupid and immature as well, they are both spoiled celebreties and we should all just forget about them!

  50. JocelynW Says:

I love him and will always will so it doesn’t matter what anyone haves to say because i forgive him. He was young and naive so back off. And what do you say to people that is a husband stealer? Yeah that proves we ain’t all saints so stop this nonsense. For real !

Rhianna was the one fighting with Chris Brown and if she is not saying anything about it maybe Miranda should go to Jenny Craig so she can feel better about herself. In her post she stated that Chris should be “put in his place.” Well if anyone should be put in their place it is Miranda by Blakes first wife. Miranda and her fat ass cheating with another woman’s husband. And what makes her think her fat ass can’t feel a shotgun’s lead or a semi automatic. When you live in glass houses DON’T THROW STONES.

Miranda does not have room to call anyone out. She did have an affair with Blake while he was still married to Kaye and everyone in Nashville knew it. Kaye caught the two of them together in her bed. Miranda and Blake are drunks that brag about hangovers and their filthy mouths. They are country trailer trash. Miranda introduced Glen Campbell who knocked Tanya Tucker around—was that ok Miranda? Miranda just wants publicity because her career is not that good and she is always in the shadow of Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. Her and Blake have no class at all. Miranda crawl back in your hole.
