February 21, 2012 07:50 AM by Shayla Perry

It’s true! American Idol alum Adam Lambert will be joining the legendary rock band, Queen — well, at least for one night. After weeks of speculation, the “Whataya Want From Me” singer finally confirmed via Twitter on Monday that he will serve as the lead vocalist for the group at “one very special concert” this summer. When? Where? Keep reading to find out all the details on Adam Lambert joining Queen!

“As many suspected, I can finally confirm: I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert! Sonisphere at Knebworth July 7th!” Lambert tweeted on Monday afternoon (February 20).

“Sorry to be coy about the details the past few weeks,” the FOX reality star continued, “but I made a promise to keep it under wraps as best I could. Gonna be a surreal night!”

Surreal indeed!

But the Sonisphere concert won’t be the first time Adam has joined the surviving members of the legendary rock group on stage.

Lambert also performed with Queen’s Roger Taylor and Brian May in 2009 during the American Idol finals, and again at the MTV EMAs in November of 2011.

Tell us what you think…. Should the remaining members of Queen just make it official and ask Adam Lambert to join the band for ALL of their performances? Share your thoughts in the Comments section below.
