By now, you know about Team Adam‘s Tony Lucca and his musical past on The Mickey Mouse Club with Christina Aguilera, but what other contestants on NBC‘s The Voice have had some pretty big breaks in the music biz – from ties to The Backstreet Boys to Mary J. Blige? Find out after the jump.
Twenty-five year old Juliet Simms of Team Cee Lo is a former band member of Stars and Scars and Automatic Loveletter, and was once signed with RCA and Epic Records. Her music has been featured on MTV‘s The Real World and Road Rules.
Team Adam’s Angel Taylor blew everyone away with Adele‘s “Someone Like You,” but she also impressed a producer linked to Colbie Caillat and went on to sign with Aware/Columbia Records.
Team Blake‘s Gwen Sebastian, 37, wowed her coach with a rendition of “Stay,” but the country crooner is no stranger to Nashville. In 2009, Sebastian signed with Lofton Creek Records, and in 2010 she was named one of the top “artists to watch” by Country Weekly magazine.
Teammate Jermaine Paul, 33, as we know, was a back-up singer for Alicia Keys, but Paul also sang background vocals for Mary J. Blige, Joss Stone, and the Backstreet Boys, and had a record deal at age 15 when he was signed to Shaquille O’Neal‘s label, Twism.
Tell us RTVM: Are you rooting for one of these artists to make a comeback like last year’s winner, Javier Colon, or would you prefer that a newbie to the music industry win this season of The Voice? Share your thoughts in the Comments section below.
