Adam Levine may be one of the hottest guys in pop music these days, but according to The Voice coach, getting attention from the ladies wasn’t always so easy; especially in his early teens. So how did he go from greasy long hair and cut off shorts to dating supermodel Anne V? The NBC reality star and Maroon 5 front man shares that and more – like what he really thinks about Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green – after the jump!
“When I was 14-15, I think it was a little less cool to be in a band,” Levine tells Access Hollywood. “I was very uncool, had disgusting long hair and shorts down to [my knees], cut off shorts — I desperately wanted to be Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam really badly, and I was just a nerdy, awkward kid and I was obsessed with music.
“And eventually, once I realized that singing was something that girls like, which I didn’t know about really, [it became], just kind of, ‘Wow… Oh my God, girls like this! I’m shocked!’” he continues. “So I kept doing it — maybe for that reason (laughs).”
It seems to have worked, too! Adam has had quite the luck with the ladies since coming into his super sexy self, and is currently dating supermodel Anne V.
Although he says that he loves having Anne by his side, the crooner is still shying away from all the marriage talk, only saying, “I’m happy, and I’m in love.”
But Levine couldn’t stop gushing about his Voice co-stars – Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton…now that he knows who they all are.
“I didn’t know who Blake was actually, to be totally honest,” Adam admits. “And then once I got to know him, he’s an amazing dude, and so funny. He kind of totally demolished whatever your idea of what a country artist is, and I love that about him.”
Calling his relationship with Aguilera more like a brother-sister type of thing, Levine says that Cee Lo Green makes him feel something, um…different.
“He is a unique creature,” Adam says of the “F**k You” singer. “There is only one Cee Lo Green and I love that about him. Sometimes I feel like Men In Black — it makes me believe in aliens because, I feel like sometimes, every once in a while, there’s a little man in his head changing gears. He’s such a fascinating, such a sweet guy.”
